I agree I never understood the point of speed running what I like most about HM is creativity and freedom I want more not less. If there’s some issues for speed runners let them sort it out any other way besides punishing everyone! More not less options most of what we got from 2 was reskinned crap with the phone being a rare exception. It’s one of my favorite tools.

I used it once or twice, for me it was overpowered and made the kill too easy, I would rather use coins to lure NPC’s away and subdue a lot of NPC’s instead of using the electrocution phone, time consuming? Yes, but more pleased with SA that way 
.

Speedrunning in Hitman is about creativity pushed to the fullest. You know what’s neither creative nor challenging? Throwing a phone in front of a target for a free kill in every mission.

Instead of removing it, they could’ve turned it into a legal Taser for Example, which would of course also only work in a Water puddle.

Apparently, a “micro taser” is unlockable.. If we keep the same mechanics as “mico items” in H2 (not visible and be carried openly), we can consider this item as a kind of “legal EP”, but works only on puddle.
I’m in the camp of ‘nerf to accidental KO’, as it’d be a handy way of being able to trigger a remote knockout (trigger means it’s unique enough from other items)
It’s understandable that it’s taken away for H3, as you were likely to have gone through the main story at least once or twice before unlocking the EP as a bit of creativity. However it’d undermine the first playthrough if you have the phone in your inventory from the start; it’d just result in people cheesing the game rather than making use of the sandbox the devs spent years crafting

I never used the phone, not a gadget user.
But i don’t understand why so mad over its existence in a single player game. Who cares how someone else plays the game? Weird. If your friend drinks the coffee, large…do you run too to toilet, yes?
They should have kept the phone not let supporters bully them into making game tough for fun.

Starting a mission/ contract with 2 kalmers sounds op too… i wonder if they still share with the seiker too?
there are leaderboards, you know. and it’s a bad point either way since you can justify anything that ruins balance which leads to you having to resort to self-imposed challenges to have fun because the game is too easy otherwise

I never used it much. Made the game too easy and boring.
I am unconvinced this justifies people lobbying for the game to be changed because they don’t like an item, or they feel it is OP. Especially in a single player game, with or without leader boards. Your never gonna know what someone used anyway. From what I have read seems folks think the item is a cane and don’t like certain players using it.
Sounds like elitism. IMO from what i have read I wager the phone is more about that then leader boards.
How many times have the leader boards been wiped now, took out an item for the sanctity of leader boards?
But it matters to you and yours, fascinating. I am sure the game will be better for it. Good luck out there on the leader boards!

Well… Cheat codes and cheat item is not the same.
Cheat code you need to know first, and then find a way to type it in / activate.
Cheat item is always available. I mean just like always

thats no our problem. why sohuld we have to sacrifce our fun for yours because your dont like how its not hard ass ball, by that logic we should remove guns and explosives and only have eno kills.
