That is OK, I think I can take a Russell victory better than a Lando victory.
What you got against Lando?
Nothing personally or as a driver, I am a Piastri fan is all so a winner from another team stings less. Also I know it’s unfair to Lando himself but I think a lot of his fans are a bit extreme if you know what I mean, at least the terminally online ones.
LOL
I like Piastri too, but Lando is so nice. He’s like so NOT a hyper arrogant prick. He might be the only one on the grid who isn’t even if you go back 25 years. I don’t understand it, but I can appreciate him as a genuine nice guy.
What about Hamilton? He usually manages to be a pretty nice bloke.
One can be both friendly and also an arrogant prick. No one ever said “I don’t think Hamilton has the shark like killer instincts needed to win a championship.”
But like it’s cool that Lando is different. Fun to watch and I was happy he won.
Ha ha ha ha! Up the Barmy Army. We keep the urn again!
Da Bears!
Daaaa Bears! Football. Polish Sausage. Polish Sausage. Bears! Bears! Bears!
Dang, those field goals have been killers this past week, haven´t they?
(Peyton bonus)
(and OG bonus, just cause I watched it recently)
Curling is back
!!!
USA Mixed Doubles has started strong winning both games in day one. Canada looks good too though also going 2-0
4-0 after day two! Absolutely demolished the Czechia
team.

I’ve been a Seahawks (and Saints and Ravens) fan since I started following the NFL more than a decade ago, so seeing them win another SB is amazing, especially since I appreciate a good defence and running game.
What makes it a looot sweeter though is that they deprived the (somewhat) resurgent Patriots of another possible title, getting vindication for 2015 (they should’ve won that one too), and finally shutting up all the “Maye MVP” talk from this season from all sides, particularly the usual Pats bandwaggoners.
Special shout outs to Darnold for being cool as ice under pressure, Walker making runs that seem as easy as a morning stroll (absolutely deserved MVP, shame about that TD flag), Dickson for punts that would make 47 question his own accuracy, and MacDonald for being a helluva coach/play caller and The Dark Side executing them impeccably. Oh yeah, and another example of the importance of having a good kicker ![]()

I was happy to see Seattle win (mostly bc it meant NE lost) but what a snooze fest that game was. I’m fine with running and field goal games, but had hoped it would be closer. Seattle defence just dominated NE. At one point I thought the game would end 18-0.
My man
(unity in adversity)
Yeah, I understand. I didn’t feel that way cause I was tense the whole game (had a tight end so to say, to reference that one ad), dreading yet another 4th quarter comeback from NE. So I was more than happy that the Seattle defence was able to prevent scoring on their part. Would’ve probably felt different (or rather similar) about the match if I didn’t have a horse in the race. (and it was nowhere near as bad as that NE vs Rams SB)
Still, I wish Denver didn’t blow the conference finals. Was hoping to see them in the SB, which I think would’ve made for a lot more interesting and enjoyable game (and one I would’ve been more relaxed watching, cause even if Seattle lost, I would’ve been at least happy for Payton getting one more ring). So yeah, not the matchup I wanted to see, butI certainly can’t complain about the outcome ![]()
Anyways, good luck to Da Bears next season! Would be nice to see some teams in the finals that haven’t been there in a while ![]()
Also, as a bonus, my gf went to Seattle for a conference in September, and she and her colleagues went to see the season opener against SF, so I asked her to get me a Seahawks hoodie. Glad I got to wear it for this occasion ![]()
US beats Italy to go to the mixed doubles curling gold medal game. That’s tomorrow and then the real action starts. Men’s team curling! I don’t know how good the US is supposed to be, but I am pumped for it.
Failure ![]()
Didn’t shoot well enough to win gold. Mixed doubles curling
silver. Close match, fun to watch, but not enough.
I’ll be drowning my sorrows with booze until the men’s tournament starts.
So finally hockey started at the Olympics, very glad the NHL came to its senses and let their players play.
Anyway, this team
is one of the best I’ve seen in my lifetime. Time to bring back the
where it belongs
The American men not looking great on the curling ice
. UK and Canada both looking super strong. The US is a young team. Avg age of like 24 or 24 compared to 40 for Canada. That experience certainly paid dividends when the two teams played. I don’t think anyone will be able to beat the UK though.
So much for curling being the most friendly sport. The teams call their own fouls (usually on themselves), much like chess it’s considered good sportsmanship to concede before play has finished if you know it’s out of hand, but today it was more like the other sports ![]()
