Why?

General pessimism, most likely. Some of the comments that appear concerning roadmaps, new content, or whatever are loaded with “nothing is good, there will never be any news, and everything about this game that I love is bad”. I have learned to largely ignore most of the negativity in the comments at this point.

Axioms about comments:

  1. Any question about wished-for items will include dual wielding, fixing every bug ever mentioned, human shields, and adding guns that won’t ever be used.
  2. There will always be comments about how IOI ignores their fans, refuses to provide updates, and won’t give the community what they ask for.

…why would they do that? It’s useful for people to know what released “recently”. April didn’t have a roadmap, so nothing replaced it. That isn’t a bad thing.

Because they’re fecking working on content, putting out the ETA Fire, and making a new map., not to mention all the other boring stuff we don’t hear about that happens in the background.

Peak pessimism right there. There is no suggestion this is going to happen, if anything we’ve seen footage for what’s coming in 2022. It would be a very bad business decision to cancel the development of the safehouse, freelancer mode, and the new Rocky map. They’d lose money, good will from the community, and in general would break everyone. Stop spreading FUD around.

That’s quite likely because escalations allow IOI to experiment with ideas. Most of H2’s and H3’s escalations do exactly this, so there’s a good chance more are coming. 7DS were mini game modes essentially in their own right.

I’m gonna refrain from insulting you too much, and just say this instead. It’s people like you who point at the game and claim it’s dead because the devs go quiet, when there’s nothing to suggest that anything is wrong. Perhaps they went quiet to focus on the game. Perhaps they went quiet because any news they give us ruins the surprise of the modes even more. Or maybe a combination of both. Quit being so pessimistic and actually try to be optimistic about something. Doesn’t it get tiring?

Delayed, but not cancelled, and literally a day after your complaint they put out a roadmap. Freelancer’s delay aside, you still came across like a schmuck.

I dunno why I would tbh. You were doomsaying the silence as if it were a bad omen.

And even then, my words were that there wasn’t anything to suggest there was a delay. Now that we have that information, we now know there is a delay, nothing has been cancelled, and the reason why they were so quiet; because they were working on Freelancer and Rocky. Which is what I said anyway.

Who was I being a jerk wad to? I didn’t reply to anyone. I just made a post cause they’re not focused on the game anymore. If you think they’re silent cause they’re focusing on Hitman and not 007 then I don’t know what to tell you. They hyped up year 2, not me. Let’s be honest here, we’re all waiting for the road map to see when freelancer or the new map is coming. Not to get 5mm rubber duck gun or to replay every elusive target. So yea it’s good to stick up for them but don’t lose yourself in the fog. There’s no reason to get all sensitive cause I’m staying the obvious.
