My vote is in. I hope I don’t regret this.

Stuck at work for the moment but the grand reveal is coming soon!

With a lit cigar in hand, I push open the door to Yacob’s room, where he is working at his desk, he looks up at me, and seems nervous.

ā€œThank God we caught that doctor!ā€ He shouts enthusiastically, ā€œWe’re so close to the end nowā€ he adds.

ā€œYes, Yes we areā€¦ā€ I add, menacingly…

As he turns back in his chair to continue his work, I draw a blade from my jacket, and drive it into his back, it didnt take long for his light to go out…

image

And yes, I stabbed all of you in the back

Next, I move downstairs to the library, where Mr Liu has been spending lots of time since I torched his room, I’m still livid he got away from that one, but now I’m about to end this once and for all.

He is reading, with a glass of scotch in hand. He notices my cigar and promtly reminds me of Lord Nazareth’s smoking policy.

Well, he certainly had some unique last words…

image

ā€œTwo down, One to goā€¦ā€

I return to my room and retrieve my legendary bow from its stand.

image

I also make sure to grab some arrows from the top drawer by the window. I am certainly glad all it took was a stern warning not to look inside, otherwise they would have found everything! The matches and lighters, poisons, fiber wire, it was all in here!

I step out into the gardens as a strike of thunder can be heard in the distance, Dr Starlight is sitting by the fountain, he hears me walking towards him, but realizes there is nothing he can do, he has been trapped.

"I guess there’s no point calling for help" he mumbles under his breath.

ā€œNo. All your hard work, all your sacrifice, only sped up the processā€¦ā€

I finally dump the cigar, now almost completely exhausted of its contents. And raise my bow one final time.

He talks to himself, clearly enraged because he has been outsmarted, his ego has been destroyed.

"YOU THINK YOU’VE WON? JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPE-"

Before he can finish, I exhale, and release. My arrow whizzes through the air, striking him between his eyes with absolute precision.

As his limp body comes crashing to the ground, I turn around and head for an exit. Lord Nazareth approaches me, briefcase in hand.

"Is it done?" he asks calmly.

With a simple nod of the head, he hands me the briefcase, and we shake hands before parting ways.

Our family ties are ancient, and I meant it

EPILOGUE

The Baroness has returned to her home in Denmark. During the events at Lord Nazareth, the sitting Queen has passed away. Upon her return, the next in line has also died in… mysterious circumstances. Baroness Kristensen has assumed the role of Queen of Denmark

She has been reading through some blueprints left behind by the late Theodore Whitehall, he had some fascinating inventions lined up, but more importantly, these have been sold for a fortune to some certain individuals

The death of Marcus Stuyvesant had been planned for years, Carl Ingram and Alexa Carlisle had made contact with the Baroness years prior, and even invited her to the inauguration of The Sceptre, it is here where she acquired the evidence that would later be used to incriminate Marcus

The Baroness has now replaced Marcus Stuyvesant as one of the partners of Providence, using her vast influence to support the organisation. Lord Nazareth has been made a Herald on the request of Kristensen. With enough experience, he would later be in the running to become the third Constant

After the death of Walter Harris, news of his passing quickly spread to his former university in the American Midwest, a plaque has been installed in his honor, with former students leaving flowers for him

image

Interpol is treating the murder of Miss Graves as a terror-related incident, Lord Nazareth is being questioned by the police, though there will likely not be enough evidence to continue the case much further

image

The art world mourns the death of Bartholomew Liu, a small art gallery has been erected in his name, in his hometown of Guangzhou, China

After the murder of Dr Starlight, he had no friends or famiily to inherit his estate. Authorities eventually entered his property to calculate it’s worth. One of the officers who entered quickly entered a state of shock. He remained traumatised, and refuses to elaborate on what he found inside the property

image

Human rights groups around the world have called for a minute silence to remember the legacy of Heinrich Wulff, who’s charitable law firm had fought and won justice for countless individuals. Unbeknowst to the public, this law firm has been absorbed into Providence, and will now be used to control the media and influence international politics in the European region

The passing of Charlie Williams has caused no end of discussion among amateur ghost hunters. Very few know what actually transpired at the manor, but the truth has been lost to a sea of rumours and conspiracies, there are hundreds of stories of what happened to the late ghost hunter. His death has also inspired a brand new new ghost hunting television show

The new Queen of Denmark, thinks back to her time at Lord Nazareth’s manor, and grins. Although her days of backstabbing and betrayal are over, she is far from done…

CONCLUSION

Big thank you to @Nazareth for hosting this awesome game, and also a thank you to all the players, including @William1066 's insightful diary entries

I had a lot of fun with it, and really hope we can continue for another game :+1:

To everyone that I lied to, either on this thread or in one of those silver tongued ā€œPartners, then?ā€ PM’s (which was pretty much everyone), i̶m̶ ̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶s̶o̶r̶r̶y̶

Oh yeah, I died washed ashore somewhere in an abandoned, barren island in New Zealand (unbeknownst to me there was a mansion just a few more steps from where I am).

Awesome finale you put together! Job well done! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and if you got any ideas for things you think can be improved or new rules to add, please share. This was fun to do but for the next game, I’d like to to participate instead of playing host though I’ll gladly do it again. This was a blast. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Alright. Moral of the story: Never trust @SilentWraith. All jokes aside, well played Baroness! Or should I say Queen… Should have kept me alive! I would have done so many paintings for you.

Even in death, I’m glad I’ll be remembered for my art.

Also, apologies Dr. Starlight. I was really having my doubts before I voted.

I would be more than willing to host the next game

You were an awesome host, @Nazareth! You definitely made it exciting. Though a new host will be a lot of fun. :eyes:

I was thinking of drawing everyone’s character, so expect those soon maybe!

You got exactly what you deserved for doubting me. :stuck_out_tongue:

That was super fun!!!

Thanks to all for playing.

Oh shoot! You made a perfect murderer, Your Majesty! I always thought the murderer is at the disadvantage with 2 detectives being in the game, but you managed to kill us all, along with the excellent epilogue for everyone of us. Well done! :+1:

By the way, thank you for not stealing my last panties but shooting me with six shots instead. I may rest in peace in this life and look forward to the next game! :upside_down_face:

If only I had accused Baroness Kristensen instead of Sristensen, then surely you would have all believed me!
Oh yeah, and the typo.
In my defence, I was in a hurry when I wrote that.
Then there was also the mass framing with knives I didn’t explain and glasses that I explained and the shower I completely ignored…

Oh my gosh OH MY GOSH!!

I had a feeling it was you, stringing us along!!

Damn. Great final reveal.
This was pretty fun @Nazareth!
I admit there were some times I felt a bit overwhelmed with tracking all the death methods and everyone’s profiles, so next time if I sign up, I’ll try to keep everything written down.

Also O_O making an original character is hard. I think I’ll go for something already established, and that I know, next time.

Also, also, I’m sorry to my fellow detective @YellowZR1. I let you die at one point to see if you were the murderer, I was painfully wrong. Ouch.

So…and I might be too quick to ask, but who’d be up for the next one? I’ll admit, trying to defend myself took the energy right out of me, but I’d be willing to give it another go.
I’ll probably be making a unique character, though. I mean, Queen Kristensen did just replace Mr Stuyvesant as one of the partners. I wonder if the next game will have Providence partner Kristensen and Herald Nazareth? I’m intrigued.

Well, I’m giving the keys to the castle to SilentWraith, so he’ll be the next host.

I don’t know if I’m going to build a new profile or assume one of a target yet. But whenever everyone is on board again, I’ll be ready.

If everyone is ready, I can start the game tommorow

I’m going to have to skip if you start tomorrow. I’ll be in Vegas for a few nights with family, but I genuinely had fun so I’ll play again soon.

Oh, if we’re starting within a few days, I should probably make my character:
Mr James Stewart (name not influenced by the guard on Hokkaido, rather a real James and a different real James Stewart)

  • Male

  • A 2 Michelin star chef. Not quite the best, unfortunately. I’d do anything if someone promised that third star…

  • I just so happen to have served the partners, as well as the (former) Baroness at the inauguration of The Sceptre a few years back. Perhaps it was their influence that got me my first star, and my skills that got me here?

  • Born in Glasgow, but moved to the cathedral city of Canterbury soon after. As such, I’ve preferred the calm of a scenic spot over being in the middle of the action.

  • I once had a vegetable knife thrown right at my face! If it wasn’t for the fact I knew it was coming, then the injuries would have been much worse than this small (1 inch) scar on the side of my nose. At least I know a vegetable knife won’t do the trick!

I think I’d overheat my brain thinking of anything else. At least I got some interesting info in there!
