New Roadmap: Season of the Luck

I wish they would. Freelancer Variations, Random TODs, Real Yacht, Welcome to Cuba, Sandbox Hantu Port, Passenger Train, even restoring the cut Methlab and The Brothers, so many of the mods you’ve contributed to are works of art

Then replace the dude with an NPC, like I said. They could likely patch it in a matter of hours and be done instead of removing all the content.

Wait, hold up, has anyone mentioned the Roadmap Title yet? Sounds pretty weird to me.
Season of the Luck? When calling it on it’s own we don’t say ‘The Luck’ it’s just ‘Luck’. It’s Luck.

The Season of Luck. Eh?

I mean, feels like they just used the template for the many past Celebrity ET-themed roadmaps? Season of The Splitter/Disruptor/Undying etc??

Also, yeah, like, on the one hand, it’s cool that they’re letting Free Players play the Deluxe Escalation for free, but, ahh, also strange they’re using it as the “big hook” and themed content drop for this Chinese New Year themed roadmap…

You should come up with a theme for the next one so they can call it Season of The Cluck :smirk:

The idea is probably to have players go “that was a cool escalation… lets buy the rest”.

I’m sure they’re in the middle of rearranging the Disruptor mission for one simple fact: last week IOI reminded us that 75M people have been playing Hitman. They can’t share such statement and then give up on the game now. I trust them and so should you. Despite THE luck of having played it before it was removed, we will have to wait a bit for its updated comeback.

As somebody who likes Escalations, has no problems with them, and even has a history of requesting some new ones and requesting some old ones being brought back, I do also agree with the “more new bonus missions, better ETs, additional Arcade rounds and Freelancer expansion” part of your comment.

I think a compromise IOI could do related to this could be:

  1. finally adding the Ambrose Island Escalation
  2. addding some better ETs to maps that don’t have them like Ambrose Island and Mumbai for example (could be based on a Celebrity, or a completely original character - I personally don’t care which)
  3. adding back a few of the old Hitman 2016 Escalations (The Susumu Obsession in Hokkaido and The Holmwood Disturbance in Paris as two examples, but not limited to just those two)
  4. adding a few ETA missions (like adding in The Forger and adding some additional missions that do NOT have a Restricted Loadout on targets that have only appeared with a Restricted Loadout)
  5. throw in your Tactical Turtleneck with Gloves and Bloodballer pistol

I do understand both your argument, and the argument of the people responding to you because I have made many requests that both have and have not been added yet - so I sympathize with both.

I mean, I’m the guy that has requested a snow based Bonus Mission in Berlin, a new medium to large outdoor snow map, a Sniper Assassin map set in Khandanyang, and wishes IOI eould make a “balancing update” related to the lesser used items to make them more viable - like Garrote weapons getting their own slot in the loadout, the Sedative Syringe being 3 different uses in the loadout/the Emetic Syringes being two uses in the loadout (carrying in three and two syringes in one slot respectively), and a buff to the lesser used audio distractions, so I do sympathize with the “effort used in other aspects of the game” part of your comment as well.

We all have realistic and unrealistic wishes to some extent, so I respect everyone in the Forums wishes personally.

Because you were being hypocritical and acted as if you spoke for all of us in the community. I certainly don’t either, but i’m not so selfish as to deny people on here a wish for new escalations, especially for maps that don’t have one, such as Ambrose.

As for those OTHER things you’re alluding to…

Items affect the game no matter if you personally don’t use them, and in most game modes too. They have a game-wide affect because they can be taken pretty much anywhere, and others do use them and share runs and information on strats. This is why certain items like the Durian, and really, emetics in general, are problematic, as they are so widely used by players because of how useful they are.

Escalations by comparison are intended to be shorter, piecemeal content with a theme running through it. While players still share runs and information, said info is more about the objectives and items to use and where to use them, not the escalation itself. So the logic of “you can ignore it if it’s not your cup of tea” is actually fairly valid here.

Up to a point of course, you can’t use that same criticism to dismiss genuine concerns about escalations that were designed badly (The Lupei Sensitivity comes to mind with its finnicky timers that annoy players due to essentially being a speedrun mission).

All of these are not synonymous, and are certainly not mutually exclusive with each other either. It’s not like escalations take up the most time or anything; in fact, that prize goes to bonus missions, because, by their nature, they change up a location fairly drastically. The hatred for this game mode is so overblown, I swear.

Also, appreciate your delicate artwork, but it’s year of the snake in Chinese calendar instead of rats. :upside_down_face:

I hope that Jeff contract is him on PZ and you have to kill him with one of the weapons he occasionally carries. Truly a contract of luck

I play “Don’t play it if you don’t like it” card when I don’t wanna waste a time to have a debate with someone so selfish “I know better” dude and close-minded to others opinions as you.

Wishful thinking. Realistically - IOI don’t want to use (or don’t have) assets to create new things. They recycling everything if you didn’t noticed it yet. So new Escalations are more probably than new missions. I would love to see more thematic Escalations for Bank, Heaven Island, Ambrose Island etc.

That’s what I’m talking about. The most mysterious thing in Hitman for me. I didn’t know anything about the game, so I remember 2016 being very eerie. I’d love to have it back, being that I had to reinstall Hitman 2016 to play it again.

…And back on the Muted list you go!

That’s sort of disproven by the fact they created unique assets for The Splitter ET. Several new models for JCVD, the containment tanks, the new room decals etc.

Yes, bring back this escalation and give me my Vampire Magician disguise as a reward for it!

I am personally a big fan of an RFID Tazer, I feel like the RFID Explosive already has a lot of potential on how you can play with it and it being a tazer now is even better (also a reminder that we have a canister to plan more “custom” accidents).

That would be a dream coming true.
