Just chiming in here, as I’ve been an avid speedrunner of HM1 & HM2…
I STILL CANNOT CONNECT ONLINE… to those who share this issue, I feel your pain. For gamers like myself who have spent countless hours unlocking items over the past few years, playing offline is not worth the time investment, due to no progress being carried over and all progress being wiped once the connectivity issues are finally solved. When that magical moment will come is a mystery… and until then, all my fellow gamers in the same boat are left without the ability to play a game they’ve prepaid for… now 5 days post-launch and counting.
I try to empathize with the developers, seeing how massive of a scale this release is, but there is an unsettling feeling of this specific issue not being acknowledged or an apology given. Some type of statement from IO letting us know what is even being attempted to fix it would go a long way, but I haven’t seen anything particularly productive or informative. An estimated timeline would be huge… a couple days is much different than a couple of weeks and would help prevent us from getting our hopes up every time we turn on our consoles.
Forgive me for venting a little, but it’s leaving me with a bad taste… in a couple weeks we may be able to laugh at all this, but with every day that passes I lose a little more faith that it will be resolved. And yes, I’m sure it will be an incredible experience in every way that the last two installments have been (and more). It won’t stop me from being a loyal fan to the series. Everything about the game is great! The launch, not so much.
I’m right here with you, a member of the never-connected-once-club. I agree, just gotta be patient, they’ve worked really hard on these games, and I’m not going to bad mouth them over an issue that will eventually be a nonissue.
Any chance this has been resolved? For the first time since launch, I was able to connect first try just now on PS5. Not willing to disconnect to try again in case I was just really lucky.
And you’re able to carry on progress from there? Or does it acquire the same problem as soon as you clock in Mastery from the Prologue/Training episode?
i have not attempted to play HITMAN 2 on it and try to carry over progress yet.
I am assuming that since that is the only difference between the two profiles is having done the progress carry over that it has something to do with the issue.
I will test doing so, I will get some progress in Paris and Hawkes bay and carry that over and I will update this once I find out.
I havent tried since i played that level 10 million times but I will try in a minute. it should be available for everyone to play since it is a base level in H3 as well (like it was in H2)
UPDATE
I should also add I have confirmed that all of my access passes work on my primary account, so they should work on my secondary account.
I played offline on my primary account before going to my alt and i could play hokkaido, Patient Zero Hokkaido, Miami, and Haven Island all perfectly fine. Suggesting it could see my H1 GOTY, and my H2 GOLD passes perfectly fine.

Well that’s good damage limitation for me. Guess all that’s left is to “rebuild the arsenal of gear and weapons” and see if things continue to pan out.

I am sure they do. But I think some aspect of how IOI has chosen to handle the relationship of IOI Account and the various Profile “accounts”/files that are generated by the games. There’s clues in there that something is not right with how they planned the relationship of IOI account and game profile files (that pre-exist the IOI account particularly in 2016) which could and probably are slightly different across H2016, H2, and now H3… PLUS all the different Store/Platform accounts that now link to IOI Account (something that possibly H2 still does not do and hence has no problem to this day).
And it’s just… at that level alone… a minefield forms in the mind.
Was able to get connect on my main account by deleting my save data yesterday, but I got disconnected about 10 minutes ago and Im getting the same error message yet again…So I’m back to square one…
Your PS4 Profile that owns/bought the game, that was linked to an IOI Account from which you performed a Progress Carryover and was linked in turn to all your HITMAN series game profiles, and is the same PS4 profile that you used to play any previous HITMAN game (2016 or H2) with actual Mastery Progress.
