Pre order in playstation

How long do these ratings usually take? You would think io handed it in months ago.

We don’t really know but it stands to reason they submitted at the same time to all rating boards…but it’s possible that the Asian rating board/s gave them problems or demanded changes that others didn’t and that may have caused problems as the game would then have to be re-submitted.

on discord the mods are saying rating for Xbox and Epic are different, thus these two platforms have it in Asia already.

And I would assume IOI did it sometimes before October, before other regions’ PSN started accepting preorder around the end of October.

funny thing is Xbox and Epic have it done long time ago in Asia, and IOI also told someone on Twitter hopeful to be done this week, but now we know it’s not happening.

I doubt that iOi would lie about it to be honest so if they’re saying that they’re hopeful for this week we have to believe there is still a chance they will make the launch. But there is a chance that if they got the rating so close to launch it may be too late for them to put it up for preorder before launch day…but until iOi provide an update we won’t know. Today is the last Friday before launch so here’s hoping iOi will have some news today.

Not sure why you responded to me.

I wrote what I wrote because one of our members that lives in Saudi Arabia says that he was not able to pre-order until just recently.

I am sorry if you are not able to as yet.

If it makes any difference to you, PS5 does not even have themes, so I am not getting one either?

Like I told you on Discord, if Hitman 3 wouldn’t arrive to the SEA regions on Playstation then IO would’ve already said to purchase the game somewhere else.

Okay, I’ll try my best to explain my thought on this.

Originally, I thought the issue has something to do with online distributor. After seeing the above Twitter post, it reminds me of Japanese CERO rating fiasco.

Basically, due to the restrictive law of CERO, video games released in Eastern Asia (especially on Sony’s Playstation since it’s a Japanese company) may receive cut/censored contents. These usually have something to do with brutality, gore, or nudity. Games from EU/US usually treats Asian market as a whole, so all countries within the continent receive the same version of the game. See Watch Dogs 1 as an example of this:

Sometimes, game may be released long after the initial release date, like GTA V, which was released in Japan a month later than anywhere else on the planet. HITMAN 2016 was released as the complete first season rather than the episodic release that we (or should I say ‘you’?) are familiar with.

In short, Playstation games in Asian region usually contain these issues:

  • censored/cut content
  • released later than other places

I hope you’ve all been well informed with this one. :slightly_smiling_face:

I won’t say they lied on purpose, but they’ve been ignoring ppl asking about the preorder bonuses on Twitter, so no chance for them to actually open up and send a tweet to talk about it specifically.

They’ve probably not answered that question because they’re hopeful that H3 will be on the PS Store in the SEA regions before launch.

but digital version would get the theme, and I have both PS4 and PS5, just saying…

Then why would you play it on PS4? Just to get the second set of trophies?

I didn’t see your msg and I’ve only had a discord account to watch the chats, never joined the conversation so I apologize if I make you feel like I ignored your words.

I think the issue is they can’t answer every single person individually and probably wouldn’t repeat themselves if they didn’t have new info. I imagine that if they were no longer able to make launch they would say so and it’s also possible they got a rating and are frantically trying to get preorders to go up. Not a lot can be done but wait for iOi to say something and hope.

Nice explanation, but usually most companies treat the Japan store as an individual market, and they have a special version just for Japan, then the rest of South East Asia shares one version.

and Ubisoft got blasted by CERI for blaming them lol.

You have a point, but time is running out.

yeah, I’m also a trophy hunter, and I’m keeping my Pro too.

to DarthTrethon:

Less than a week, I wish the sudden pop up on that guy’s PS5 store and the followed take-down this evening only means it’s coming before the 20th.

Language setting for each game usually indicates which countries were bundled, so if you see Japanese as an option, then your game is most likely identical to JP version.

HITMAN 2 (2018) though, was a special case. It contains 12 languages, and you can switch between any of them from anywhere. Thus it proves the game doesn’t have a different version. I can’t precisely explain why H3 is treated differently from its predecessor, though. Maybe it is because of IO publishing the game themselves.

Ok, so I just checked Hitman 2 on PSN Japan store, it was released on Nov 15th, 2018, two days after the global release, while South East Asia was Nov 13th.

But like you said, IO publishing themselves for the first time probably played a part in this fiasco.

And the mods from discord is saying free Hitman 1 GOTY access for PC until 10 days after release, but still no words on preorder bonuses for SEA PSN.
