It does make one wonder what is on the way. Permanent ETs? Offline play? Full suit and weapon access between regular game and Freelancer? The Fixer? Tactical Turtleneck with gloves?!
This is an interesting way to have a better of both worlds approach to re-introducing The Undying. Have the ET as normal (which I’m assuming The Undying Returns will also rerun again in a few months), while also having a purchasable permanent option in the form of an ET Arcade (with extra goodies to make it more appealing).
The Oroborous has three stages… So Undying, Undying Returns, and what? The Undying again so you can replay the normal version without having to reset? Or will they add new content for the third level?
As for the other stuff, it’s fine. I wasn’t expecting anything so some unlocks are good. I’m more interested in the patch notes anyway.
I know Lego has a policy against mature or violent themed sets, but man… someone’s gotta LEGO Ideas the shit outta 47… There’s gotta be some good success behind that!
They have a Lego version of The Joker; they’ve already broken that rule as extremely as it can be broken, considering he’s the most violent villain in fiction. 47 is a mildly aggressive time-out dispenser by comparison.
I’m sure the explosive pen will work exactly like the original (and previous) version. But I still say it’d be nice if it worked like the wristwatch from The Bank/New York did - where you can set it down, then activate it (click it), and get away… Or set it (click it) then toss it. No lethal throw, click it then place or toss. Then boom!
Then you’d have a pen that worked like the one in the 007 movie (with Pierce Brosnan). That’s what I, and undoubtedly other people were expecting when such an item came out.
Edit: Oh yeah. It’ll need to act like a coin not just in noise distraction, but “Ooh, nice pen!” and they go to pick it up (assuming it doesn’t go off).
Most of the roadmap are re re re re re recycled ETs, which are always a chore, but you know what? Fuck it. The Undying alone made this worth it, and apparently there’s more yet to come. I wonder if The Oroboruos is the fabled “escalation” they teased last year, or that’s still yet to be released, if it is even going to be released at all.
