looks like IOI is putting down Hitman for a bit anyway
and maybe a little criticism is okay,
so when they reboot the series again they know how to make it even better

I mean, i understand the point but this is not r/games or some general place to talk about gaming, it’s mainly a forum about Hitman. It’s not a question of emotions but a question of adequacy

Soulless creatures like the one in this video posted above are trying to make a few bucks with hate and negativity. Better to stay away from it or they drag you down for no reason.

I feel people vent because this is the dedicated forum, but also its a way they believe they can be heard because they might think the developer reads this. Hitman does cost a fair bit of money so the audience has certain expectations. For example I dont like with the previous game that the weapon selection/customisation is still so small and the whole Mk2 fiasco.
Even I debate myself whether it’s worth the brand new price or get is pre-owned in a few months for around 1/2 the price.
Thing is people with other companies are ready to pardon anything, things way worse than the Mk2 fiasco, just to play the game they like, because they think the game offers more good than bad even with the mistakes
Just look at GTA V and its horrible online, the bugs and Bethesda or the Ubisoft fans (they’re not a few people, that’s a lie) that enjoy playing year after year the same game
Why then the Hitman fan has to be so picky about a fucking sticker in guns

I think the questions is, are you (we all) invested in those communities enough to realize their negativity? There is always complaints about Ubisofts copy and paste open world formula for example. Our focus is on Hitman, so we see every tiny complaint posted here.

After all we complain here about being nice to each other while on other parts of this planets people are starving.
It is easy to put oneself on the moral high. 
I think we should try to not compare our problems with others. If things bother us, we better try to fix it. I’d just want that fix to cause no new problem for others by spreading a bad mood.

True there are other rip offs out there, but I’d lump Mk2 in with it because it was lazy. I feel it’s fair criticism and balanced with this also aimed at other games doing reskinning. Plus they sold it to us saying we could carry over unlocks. I was not expecting to have to seriously put hours into replaying Hitman 1 because of it. It dampened my enjoyment of Hitman 2.
Imagine the scenes in 5 years time when the next Hitman is a sequel to Absolution where we play as Victoria.

i’d be well up for a female hitman, just as long as they ditch absolution’s grindhouse trappings and the heavy narrative focus, as well as stay away from the absolution-style level design.
Ok for female protagonist, as long as 47 is still the Main Character

Not sure on how that’s really relevant since we’re talking about a video game here… also not a huge fan of the people who demand things in video games be changed since invariably it leads to some people getting huge egos over their assumed genius as armchair developers and spiraling into getting banned over attacking people who don’t agree with their “vision”.
Ultimately the idea of criticism on a fan forum is honest and entertaining discussion, working out what can and should be changed is up tot the developers.

i thought it was just meant as a sentiment in relation to what they quoted, as opposed to anything else. i doubt they were genuinely suggesting you get a job at io or start learning to mod.

Many years ago I suggested playing as one of the Saints (Marie Garnier), not necessarily in a new game but in a game mode. People weren’t too thrilled. But I wish it happens!
On topic: I don’t know, maybe I wasn’t around too much lately. I didn’t perceive a negative wave against the game, in fact right now in other forums people are discussing the previews and they’re being very positive about it. It’s even catching the attention of the casual crowd.
I’ve been in Hitmanforum since 2012-2013 and I always see it as a bit of complaining and plenty of praising. Not only the community survived the Blood Money gap, when Absolution arrived it brought many heat arguments with it but still the community didn’t break. It was probably the most divisive time for us.
There was a lot of negativity going around, but still… compared to this it was much worse. I don’t feel Hitman 3 is the particular target of anyone or it’s being subjected to a smear campaign.

all (german) articles I’ve seen praise the game and say its unfair that a Game as good as HITMAN 3 and its predecessors are such sleeper hits, one journalist even said that Articles about the Games are not doing well, clickwise.
Gameplaywise and technical Hitman is on its absolute peak imo, I’m mostly concerned about the Story and i really want them to improve on their (Main Story) Writing.
