Oh yes, the story… well…
I’m just going to ignore it, honestly. The story in HITMAN 2 was abysmal. I just don’t get what were they trying to do.

I love the story of the last two games.
And to be honest, I mostly see negativity here on the forum, but I don’t mind it. I think it’s because everyone here has a story with the hitman games and especially when it comes to nostalgia, people are very critical. It’s like with every fandom, Star Wars, DC or Marvel etc.
For my part, I think that there are two types of criticism that I see more often. The first is good. I would say that criticism that takes the form of a “I like this game but these one or two things need work” is great. It encourages not only discussion, but it helpful. These are usually bug reports, critiques of specific game play elements, wish lists and that sort of thing.
The other type though is not only unhelpful, it’s offensive. I would categorize this second type as “This game will not be good until they change this long list of things which won’t ever be changed”. These are the types of critiques that list bullet-point lists of things that have no realistic chance of being implemented. There are certain members of this forum that seem to take this position. They say they love the game but the number of complaints that they insist on typing out go way beyond. These are the types of critiques that need to stop because they don’t help anyone.
If you have that many problems with a game, go play something else.
yeah cheru and call me kevin had a pretty good opinion on it to. plus the dubai level is beautiful
It can be a risk but luckily there are not a lot of games being released in january. And even if the sales are not as good, I’m sure the reviews from players and journalists will be very good for the game.
And hopefully sales of the trilogy with the entire 3 games will be good when IOI will release it, because I’ve seen some players waiting for it to finally play the games.
I can hardly wait for discussions about that again, but the truth is that we will never know, but IO-I is expanding, new studio, gone independent for the second time now and are hiring and a brand new IP for them, so I’m pretty sure they have enough to put food on the table and then some .
Yeah I think too and I’m happy that they have found financial stability and expanding. But there are always risks in this industry, things are never permanent. So I really hope that the 007 Project will make good sales.
Or else they would go back to Hitman, I wouldn’t mind that , but I don’t want them to fail with the new James Bond either, hopefully they succeede with James Bond are happy and ready to go back to Hitman soon after
.
Oh god… that’s a long wait… , but who knows, maybe even I will like IO-I’s James Bond
, I don’t think I have played any James Bond games.
I don’t want them to fail either, Project 007 will certainly cost a lot and I don’t want them to struggle again and go through layoffs once again.
That’s also my guess, they’ll certainly come back to Hitman after it, but that means we’ll have to wait at least 5 years for this…
Lol that’s pretty much what I want. Sure give us like a prominent co star but I never want to play as anyone other than 47.
I’m a hudge fan from early begining, have a tons of hours in every single game, especialy two last one (over 800 in each) and I’m a some kind of fanboy always was on the IOI side no matter what. But this time… i need to change my mind.
Hitman 3 looks like a simply H2 DLC Map Pack without any effort. Everything looks like they are borded with project and just want to finish at low cost and start doing other things. There are many things that indicate this:
My conclusion is that H3 will be just a simple Map Pack, without DLCs, without live content. They just recolored everything what we know in H2 and just added new maps.
I’m sure these maps will be great, but I as a third and last part of series I’ve expected little more. Since they alerdy made a game and only thing wchich They needed to do it’s just polish and announce maybe new gameplay mechanics, something will be fresh for the series. Dubai looks quite generic just like a music in background. I expected they will do some sand storm just like in Heaven Island - to add some spice to the level.
But Hitman 3 seems be just a just recolor H2 with new maps. And that’s why i’m sad and quite disappointed. Of course the whole Epic Stuff just makes me dissapointed even more.
Of course - I still need to see the game, but there is too many signs that telling me that will be a game done by low effort and cost. And as a last game of series (and we probably wont see another Hitman Game foorr a long time) that is… dissapointing.
So I have no right to criticize? I’ve been pretty sure the H3 is going to be great for a long time. But more and more things make me stop thinking about it that way. Poor decistions. It will be just a another good Hitman game, but nothing more, nothing less - without any new improvements. Just a quite expansive map pack. I could accept that, if they will improve things - especialy add Native Speakers which make a HUDGE differece to immersion. Seems I can’t even have that.
this is my opinion and my fears about game. I’ll buy, try it and come back with feedback.
Yes, you have the right, but 3/4 of your message are “fears” of a game becoming a “DLC” and criticizing it for it when we don’t have a clue if that’s what you think.
The same could have said for Hitman 2 and it wasn’t said because it was the same formula and it was really great. They’re closing a trilogy that has the same aesthetics, engine and graphics, it’s not just a DLC.
Every reason you’ve said to criticize the game has either a phallacy or it’s just a fear and not a fact or it’s not as problematic as you say. Others are, obviously, subjective.
What’s the problem with that? They were failed game modes.
They actually have said they will make bonus missions as DLCs and it’s obvious they will support the game.
Why would they?
That’s true, but it’s a feature we are asking the game to have and if it doesn’t have it, well… it’s like thousand of other games that has thousand of possibilities and are never fulfilled…
This one is true, but i think they will change the aesthetics of the items at least. What more do we want? they need to give the items to people in a certain way…
Subjective. Not a problem for me, but i can understand being a problem for others.
This one is a re-edition of your other points above this one. I understand what you’re saying, but i don’t think it’s highly problematic.
This is normal in today industry, it’s what it’s and we will have to accept it because it has come to stay. It’s not a bad practice if used well by the company and the differences between Epic and Steam are not so dangerous as people think they are.
Yes, but remember they didn’t build the game from scratch. They have an engine and resources, and all that’s left to do is “tweak” what we know and add new missions and stories. From this it follows that only the second part will be delivered. But we’ll see how that will works. Bank and Heaven Island was just a Perfect content (even better that some of core missions) so it gaved me a hope.
I’m just sad they didn’t done anything to improve experience (everything looks like that), UI, core mechanic or add something new but still sells as very expansive game.
Why should they? It’s a trilogy, everything will be the same, only major changes (I know of, I’m staying away from trailers and spoilers) is new locations which I’m for one perfectly okay with, I didn’t expect anything else.
I’m glad I only need a Fibre Wire, ICA Silverballer, Poisons, Lockpick, a Sniper Rifle and Coins, but again it is a trilogy, so I didn’t expect new items and guns, why should they? All items in Hitman 1 works perfectly and did in Hitman 2 and will do Hitman 3 as well, and we all who played Hitman 1-2, knows well no how the different items works, so that is a good thing.
As said I’m staying away from news about Hitman 3 so if this is the case, then, too early Maybe? I’m pretty sure we will have new ET’s.
Maybe too few enjoyed it and they didn’t want to bother with it? I have not played it or been interested in multiplayer in Hitman.
In my opinion, as we all should do, or at least wait for the game to be released before starting to rip it apart.
No wonder why IO-I is putting hitman on hold, with all this negativity.
I know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the reasons is both.
8 years?! . What happend to 3-4 years? Now we are up to 6-8 years?
Edit.
For love of God! How many years do we need to wait? 3-4 or 5-7 or 6-8?
Huh, they’re taking a break to focus on the Bond game and hopefully Freedom Fighters 2 or any other new IP they might have planned. Focusing only on one IP will burn out any game dev. Has nothing to do with negativity towards the WoA trilogy. Mentioned this in another post that they will probably start working on a new Hitman game in 6-8 years.
fair enough.
what kinds of changes would you like to see that would make h3 more worthwhile for you?
I’ve seen quite a few people commenting on their disappointment that the Mk2 items will be in Hitman 3. Why is this so bad? I expected them to be in the game. Why didn’t everyone else? Hitman 3 is somewhat unique in gaming in that you can play the entirety of Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 within Hitman 3. Essentially, once you get H3 installed and progress transferred, you can delete H1 and H2 forever. All of the applicable items and unlocks from those two games will be inside H3.
I also don’t get why people are upset that reskinned items with the Mk2 or Mk3 sticker are going to be used. From my perspective, this is just fine. It provides a reward, doesn’t require much overhaul of mechanics, and is a pretty harmless thing to add to the game. Whenever they have added unique items, those items are either fairly useless or complained about because they are overpowered. How many people really need both the normal shurikens and the bat version? How many people bring the quick release instead of the fiber wire? They’re the same thing. How many complained about the electrocution phone because it made the game too easy?
If a gun with a sticker is all the reward, that’s fine and I don’t get offended by that. I bet most of us have a pretty standard gun that we all use regularly. So what if there’s an extra one in the inventory we probably won’t use? If the alternative is no rewards, I’d rather have the useless extra gun with the sticker.
Generally agree. Wish they had the foresight from the beginning to have both a “global” item unlock progression, separate from Level Mastery tracks. This would have most items, including essentials, reskins, a few uniques. Level Mastery could have mostly focused on pickup and starting locations, with a few specialty items mixed in.
Also wish after they went through the effort of reskinning several weapons from blue to black in 2, they made THOSE skins “the signature MKII look” instead of a literal sticker. With the lockpick MKIII it seems to have red highlights which look much better
Now we have inventory “options”, which admittedly I like to mix n match for flavor, so I can’t say I’m against it.
Only issue I have is the number of items when they’re so huge in the UI…
This was my biggest complaint in Hitman 2, (don’t spoil it, I will find it out soon enough) but I hope there is no MKIII stickes in Hitman 3, but it would just be a bit annoying, not enough to stop me from enjoying Hitman 3.
