I never thought about the possibility of having Dawood paintings around the house and now I want it more than anything.
Having Alma’s security system (or perhaps something like the vault from whittleton creek) would be cool too.
“Welcome home 47 and… Sean 2”
Or the KAI system from Hokkaido when 47 comes back injured from a mission.
In H3, 47’s hands are noticeably larger, and his wrists are fucking massive and comparable to those of a Nordic powerlifter.
So, maybe we should be afforded plastic surgery customization especially in this direction:
I’ve just commented in the other thread about this, but as Freelancer is indicating it’s set after Hitman 3’s ending like we’ve mentioned, I believe having Alexa Carlisle roaming Dartmoor and Robert Knox in Miami for example are just placeholders for the Closed Technical Test.
Like you’ve pointed out, there does seem to be things different around the Dartmoor map such as the chairs being moved, so it looks as if this takes place after Alexa’s fake funeral.
I’m thinking the Campaign targets will be removed from the final version as it wouldn’t make sense having Alexia Carlisle roaming Dartmoor if Freelancer is set after Hitman 3’s epilogue.
I had this thought a few days ago about the Safehouse, it definitely has that same vibe about it……….
And that’s before I noticed that pic above which you’ve shown of 47 being present around snowy trees.
The safehouse looks epic
Its a stupid amount of challenges. I love it
Evergreen is also a slang term for “forever, timeless, always relevent, never out of fashion”
Petition to have a customizable graffiti wall in the Safehouse just so I can display this specific game texture
I have a question about the safehouse in the CTT. Fir me it’s nighttime, but I have seen screenshots during daytime. Is it a mod or is the daytime changing?
There’s a day/night cycle. I don’t know how it’s timed but I’ve seen morning and late afternoon and night.
Since it seems that the safehouse was not 47’s idea, but appears to have been gifted to him by Diana, do you think this is what she was up to during the year after H3? Was she having this house constructed, using equipment cannibalized from other ICA locations that she might still have access to, in preparation for this operation, knowing 47 would accept her offer once he tracked her cabin down?
Or, perhaps it was something Diana or someone else at ICA was already working on but it had not become active yet by the time ICA went under, hence it’s closed-off and incomplete status when 47 gets there, and he needs to do more work to pay for its completion.
Either way, it doesn’t seem like this whole deal was 47’s doing; Diana probably left the keys in her cabin. If true, then this must be Diana’s apology for acting like she’d turned against him, again, and a show of truce and no hard feelings for her parents.
It’s not a cycle, they’re random when you load into the Safehouse. Possible options are: morning, day, and night. They do also subtly change things other than the day, such as the time on each of the clocks on the wall and the security camera images.
I haven’t unlocked the Upstairs area yet, so the only glimpses of any time of day change in the safehouse has been the Departure cutscene when driving to a mission.
“Alright, I’ve got my items it’s time to leave…”

"Oooohhh it’s nighttime now!!
I didn’t think they’d do it, but 47 really doesn’t have access to the upper floors until he gets more mastery.
Someone explain that to me in the most logical lore terms please?
Under construction/the movers are still moving the boxes in.
All jokes aside, I don’t really see Freelancer as canon, in my opinion. Mostly due to the fact there’s a load of ambiguity around it (and that it’s a gamemode, “but sniper assassin” that’s a bit different since it wasn’t originally a gamemode).
If I had to view it as canon, it would be all of Freelancer minus the mastery part as that’s purely artifical.
I see! Well I guess I wasn’t lucky to see it during the day then for now
Me neither. There is no hint or anything that would suggest it’s set after the events of Hitman 3 or anywhere in between the WOA trilogy. And since 47 is travelling to all these places as if he’s never been there before, it doesn’t seem canon to me.
Freelancer gives me much old games vibes, which I really appreciate!
Of course I would have love to see something of Grey But I got Ambrose Island, so it’s fine by me
And who knows what the future holds
But Freelancer seems more like a “back to the roots”-mode, with 47 being on his own and Diana being a voice on his computer and on his phone. Some cutscenes between the missions even look like they were taken from old games, like 47 being in a very dark hotel or being wounded (Contracts) or driving a street and you see it flashed by the lights of his car (Absolution).
And the safehouse suggests he lives there on his own, with just one plate in the kitchen, one glass of wine, one cup of coffee… it’s like his hideout in Blood Money or the garden house in Silent Assassin, just bigger and more luxurious but I love the vibe that you are totally on your own, and that’s what the mode also gives you. For example by finding the final target in the showdowns. It’s actually quite difficult sometimes, but that’s what it makes it so exciting. No one helps you, there are no mission stories, no hints, you have to find the best way to find and kill the targets. I think it’s much fun and a nice variety to the main games and other modes
He’s come a long way and made a lot of money (if you’re going off the basis this is after Hitman 3, or even during the events of WoA and he was doing this, explains the ICA). He deserves a place he can rest.
But if you’re going purely off the trees, you can say that, in your head canon, the “Secret Location” is Berlin, and bring in that this is Grey’s safehouse. If you’re really looking for that Grey connection. (But in my opinion, it’s clever reuse, but you do you, that’s the whole point of Freelancer).
The mere fact that he’s working with Diana, but not for ICA, is what clearly indicates that it’s after H3. Remember, 47 canonically went to Sapienza 4 times in the course of WoA, the first two being only a couple years before the main game, and Diana still introduced him to it in World of Tomorrow as if he’d never been there before. Introductions to a place he visited later as if it was the first time is nothing new, so I don’t think that’s a reliable indicator.
While no specific mission or event occurrence in Freelancer may necessarily be canon, I think we can safely say that 47 canonically began living in this safehouse after a year’s break at the end of H3, and then began taking open contracts that went very much like the ones we’ll be playing, and we can just let our imaginations guide us through how we think it went. I’m pretty sure, lore-wise, the events of Freelancer are just a broad-strokes peek at what 47 did with his time before the next official entry in the series.
I know this sounds stupid but maybe Freelancer takes place in the six year period between Absolution and the new trilogy
Without attacking anyone else’s preferences/particular aspects of what they like about Hitman games, I’m always very thankful that I care much less about lore and ‘canon’ events than some other players do. Sounds like a real minefield for the people who are super in to it.
