there are train sounds interspersed through out H3’s game audio. they are intentional, and hearken back to the story. the constant’s first meeting with Diana is on a train, and the game ends on a train. maybe it’s obvious, but i never made the connection before… even when 47 exits Dartmoor, there are muffled train sounds as Grey speaks over the ear piece. some talented sound designers discuss it in this podcast episode:
I didn’t find the safe key during my playthrough. I looked on Internet and the key is located in the auction room where Dalia’s assistant is, on the table by the computer.
IO recorded lines just for the Hunting, Devil and Chinese Deluxe suits, but they didn’t bother to give them their own categories so they could actually be heard in game.
The Chinese suit is a Tangzhuang and its lines hinted at you culturally appropriating or being a ‘tourist’
The leadership structure of Providence is very similar to that of the cosmic entities of the Marvel universe:
The Partners = The One Above All
The Constant = The Living Tribunal
The Heralds = The Cosmic beings (Eternity, Death, Galactus, Master Order, Lord Chaos, etc.)
The operatives = The lower cosmic beings (The Celestials, the Watchers, the Cosmic Cubes, etc.)
The associates = The Earth pantheons (Asgardians, Olympians, Egyptian gods, Aztec gods, etc.)
Providence was always structured like your typical corporation in its leadership, but there was always something else it reminded me of and I couldn’t figure it out. Just did.
I find that comics, movies, all media pretty much always has to follow the “bigger fish” philosophy. The writers always have to come up with some being or organization that is more powerful than the last. If Superman or Ironman or whoever can beat up some cosmic entity, you need an even mightier one that they can’t beat…and then do so you need something even more powerful…and so on and so on and so on.
Biggest offender of that by far… DragonBall. The Super series literally made the Z series utterly meaningless by following this philosophy. It’s still going on.
This is exactly how I feel about Providence. The ultimate secret organization to end all secret organizations that’s been pulling the strings ever since 47’s creation. Who are they going to hunt down after this, Providence 2?
I found the source of that mysterious “Hey listen” line which you can hear at some point in any part of Chongqing map.
This is Nianzu Shao, who stands near the ICA facility entrance saying.
Interesting, and a good find with some exploration/detective work.
Nonetheless I choose to reject it and continue to believe my headcanon that, invisible to the player, 47 is actually always followed by this little pest :
