Okay, so this is why you only hear that when you trigger the conversation the homeless people are having. Otherwise you won’t hear it if the contract you’re playing is focused in other areas of the map. Good find!
Contracts mode is just a playable form of Hitman fan fiction.
OK. I feel like I’ve gotten into some reverse Mandela Effect shit now.
If you put a coin in this jukebox while P-Power is talking to Dexy Barat he’ll seek out peace and quiet outside of the bar (where you can subdue him)
I honestly never noticed this before yesterday. Confusing. Always poisoned his beer if I wanted his disguise.
Holy shit, I had no idea that was an option.
Don’t bother to record, but for some reason while being in bodyguard’s disguise in Mendoza and holding a camera, guards refer to me like I’m holding a gun saying things about “putting that away”.
“Jeesus, put the gun away man” just someone said to me.
Open your eyes, folks, it’s just a camera! Camera!
Sure it is…
Never knew that! Haven’t even noticed the jukebox before. Thanks for pointing this out!
I can no longer kill Robert Knox or the Florida Man with the swordfish without thinking:
“Playin’ a game of Whack!-Fuck! here…”
You can use a lock pick to unlock a door while it is inside a briefcase without taking it out; it just lets you open the door as if it was in your hand.
I wonder if you can do that with screwdrivers or wrenches.
Sounds like it somehow considers the briefcase item already part of your inventory, so you can use it to unlock doors.
That’s what I think. I’ll try one of those other items to see.
Did you start the level with the lockpick inside, or did you out it in there?
The game might treat auto-inserted versus manual differently.
Like how if you smuggle in an explosive, it is stashed with the explosive and the trigger in the briefcase, when you can’t notmally do that.
I started with it in the briefcase. Actually forgot to take it out, so once I had unlocked a door and then it hit me that I hadn’t taken the lock pick out, I was like, hold the fucking phone…
I believe it’s been like that since H3 launch but not H2’s. I remember being annoyed earlier that you had to take lockpick out of briefcase for it to count
I can confirm that it also works with the Handyman Wrench and the Professional Screwdriver. Both used for sabotage while they were in a briefcase since the loadout menu. The Key Hacker/Scrambler also works (and properly consumed).
The ICA Titanium Crowbar is a bit different. It cannot be placed in a briefcase from the loadout, neither can it be smuggled in one (something I did not know and just foubd out, so right in for the topic).
It can still be placed in one, and then used from it, but not from the start.
Good find @Heisenberg. Interesting to see how the inventory mechanicaly works. Now I wonder if there could be any gameplay use. I don’t see any immediately, but who knows.
Are you still shown to be performing an illegal action when you magically lockpick via briefcase?
I don’t know for lockpicking, but causing a gas leak with a wrench certainly can.
I had the same thought after the first three I made in Chongqing without any alert, but it was just because I was lucky on the lines of sight. I definitively was caught when I made one in the middle of the main square.
Then there really isn’t any gameplay advantage save a split second here and there of time.
The interesting thing is, the small white square indicating an item prompt it still here on the briefcase during the animation. So as far as I can tell, the item is still in the briefcase.
The item appears graphically in 47’s hands for the animation, but I suspect that the actual tracked item is not on his person.
I am certain that there is a convulated way to break something, somewhere. Maybe something fun, amusing, or absurd. But definitively nothing useful.
More importantly, the way the game works is by making the action illegal, not the item itself.
Unless we have the reverse somewhere (legal action, illegal item), nothing useful could be found.
It can definitely be smuggled in in a briefcase. Similar to Heisenberg, I found out about this mechanic back in H2 when I didn’t take the crowbar out of a briefcase I had smuggled it in.
And I just doublechecked it now. The only things you can’t put the ICA Crowbar in are Hidden Stashes. (Although with how buggy my inventory is sometimes, I’m not sure I even trust that. )
