I think the strangest thing about that is to me it just requires a complete disconnect with the ability to read what the game is saying about Sadie as a character. To say that Sadie is being endorsed when she is clearly borderline suicidal in her hunt to avenge her husband is like saying that The Sopranos is endorsing Tony’s behavior. The person who made that list is saying that the mere fact she’s a competent killer is progressive messaging and therefore bad, which is a sign of not only being an idiot but also being milfully ignorant in order to condemn something
Is RDR2 really endorsing anything other than the government and discrimination being bad? every other theme in the game has a deliberate counterpoint: the game doesnt really endorse a rural lifestyle because a theme is how John never does truly escape from industrialization. it doesnt really advocate vigilante justice because of how it ruins the lives of so many. It doesnt even really advocate living in a commune because Dutch is a nutcase that gets his entire gang killed in order to play Robin Hood turned Robber Baron
Also i think my other reply criticizing Israel’s genocide of Gazans got deleted from here lol but this is the biggest thing I can poke into the ideology of so-called “anti-woke”, “anti-progressive” people: the vast majority of the time their ideology is getting mad at capitalists doing capitalism capitalistically. A progressive opinion PROGRESSES society. There is no progressive influence on culture or politics I can name that has not been stamped out
Letting black people, women, gay people and trans people develop games and become politicians under a capitalist regime is not progressive at all. Unionizing for a change to how pay and work weeks are calculated, tearing down corporate structures or taking away funding for the military industrial complex ARE progressive actions. Those will never happen, but because these people think of themselves as anti-progressive they can argue online against “woke culture” when they just mean capitalists no longer selling products to just them. Meanwhile when the next war for oil comes these anti-wokesters will be the first shipped off to murder children to ensure the middle east gets under increasing colonialist control
anyways, on a lighter note this weird glitch I encountered caused the guard to have tourette’s syndrome
After I killed this guard the AI on the map was completely broken. Guards were stuck in their searching with gun drawns mode eventually alerting every guard in the level. All non guard non enforcer NPCs stopped moving completely and would ignore anything they saw. Even killing someone right in front of them. Enforcer non guards would run to tell on you if they saw you break the law, but the guards would completely ignore them and just keep running around.
So apparently there’s this A Very Royal Scandal TV miniseries that released just yesterday and I just stumbled upon a clip from it.
What does it have to with Hitman? Take a listen to Epstein’s voice here. Yep, that’s John Hopkins, the voice behind Lucas Grey in World of Assassination
Not sure if this is mentioned on here before, but… Diana and Tamara go to the security office during their routines, If you hide in the security office area right behind the board in front of the panel, and Diana and Tamara walk in, Diana will notice you and turn your direction, and then will say a line of dialogue (usually randomized). Also, if you wear a bodyguard disguise instead and approach her at that spot (only if she’s not talking to Tamara), she says other dialogue too.
Suit Only
“It’s odd to be in the same room while you work.”
“Really, 47? I thought I taught you better than this”
“I can see you have this… all under control?”
“So sorry about all this,”
Bodyguard Disguise
“All business, even at a party? You must be a professional.”
“You look like a true professional.”
“You’ve been doing this work for a while, haven’t you?”
“I feel much safer with you gentlemen around.”
Also I noticed in someone’s footage that if you put in the freezer both Tamara and Mr. Vargas as Corvo, she will say “I though I taught you better than this.”, talking about collateral kills
I just found out that you can shoot THROUGH the garden hedges in Dartmoor.
Bullets go through the hedges!
It just saved my bacon on a prestige timed objective in Freelancer tonight. Sniper shot from the other side of the garden, on ground level, through a hedge, at my final target.
In the middle of the village, by Martinez’s compound, there is a shop on the first floor. Never noticed the presence of this shop before. When I checked on Hitmaps, it seems that 47 can interact with the shopkeeper to ask for glue.
47 can interact with the girl behind her desk. When 47 approaches her, she asks if 47 wants additional intels about stronghold. She starts the discussion and speaks about the stronghold itself. 47 can resume the discussion and the second round talks about the Kronstadt screens. The final discussion is about the price (about 100,000,000$). The discussion provides valuable information about the lore.
Eventually, she stands next by the rest room. Therefore, it’s possible to lure her in the toilet, and knock her out. It’s a way to acquire the old key undetected.
What Hitmaps doesn’t (currently) note is that this doesn’t work on Master difficulty. You can still interact and the shopkeeper acts like she’s giving the glue, but the glue isn’t given.
Also, you need to have seen the broken souvenir before the interaction prompt is available. On the other hand, you don’t seem to actually pay for the glue, i.e. no coins are needed like you’d expect.
Found out from a Reddit comment that the voice of the songs on Landslide is Conny Kollet, a German singer. Hitman is not listed on her website (other games are ) but you can find this blogpost by the company that produced it:
They also have posts about their work on The Class’s music and (a short one) on Hitman 2:
47 can interact with a waiter at the reception desk. 47 mentions it is the first time he’s coming here. The waiter then explains that a bar where cabernet wine is served is on his right, behind him is the state-of-the-art fermentation containers (but reserved to staff), whereas the bathrooms are on his left.
I recall doing that once… But I walked away, the camera was still slightly zoomed in, and the captions were at the bottom of the screen while the Maitre de kept on talking.
