Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

They should do it in WoA as well… there’s one in Paris, and one in Mendoza … i’m not sure about any others … maybe Miami ??

The Miami film crew, from memory, don’t care if you walk between the person being filmed and the camera. That always seemed weird to me.

The infamously mocked line from The Constant “it’s the thing that gets you to the thing” is probably an almost verbatim reference to a line from the series Halt & Catch Fire:

The “oops all flamingos” easter egg doesn’t work in contracts mode

Huh, interesting. I had never heard it before and simply assumed it was an established but rarely used phrase.

His best line is still “if it seems like a conspiracy, it probably isn’t.”

Been playing The Bad Boy elusive target on my no KO, fibre wire, suit only runs. I usually always knocked out everyone around his car before blowing it up, but just found out that if you don’t, the target has a long conversation with the guards about the security breach (the car being up in flames) and what they’re going to do about it, as well as with the person admiring his car who turns out to be a fan of his who sent him cat pictures. The target is paranoid and is sure that Stoakes sent the guy to mess with him

In Santa Fortuna, if you don’t do the drumroll in the statue mission story, the keyboard player will do the drumroll instead by tapping one note quickly.

Today I learned that using the SDK to teleport all NPCs underwater in Sapienza to kill them all at once not only crashes the game, it also causes the server to refuse to let you reconnect for hours on end when you relaunch the game. You get the “unable to fetch server configuration” error.

Clears itself up eventually.

Did it twice and got the same result. :joy: So yeah, its a thing.

I wonder you were temp blocked as an anti DDoS measure or something. So I’m curious, does this happen with Peacock?

I think this is the case, I heard of that when people play kill-everyone contracts.

A question for the thread, rather than a nugget of info:

Does anyone know if the action of auto-hiding a drawn pistol behind 47’s back as he approaches an NPC in the WoA is just a visual flourish, or does it have any mechanical effect (such as reducing the rate of the NPC suspicion meter filling up)? If it doesn’t have a mechanical effect, I’d like to see that patched in (or, worst case, implemented in a future game).

I believe the NPC you’re walking up to can no longer see the pistol and isn’t suspicious, but it’s been a long time since I have seen it work in a room where there is only one NPC. Probably pretty easy to test out in Paris though which has a few rooms with one staff person each.

I can confirm this mechanic worked in Blood Money, though obviously the coding for this game is entirely different (like blood stains and targets fighting back)

Kind of annoying too, because if I’m remembering correctly (crucial detail), when he holds a gun behind his back in Blood Money, NPCs don’t see it unless they’re within a certain range. Wish it could be done here. Another example of previous game mechanics that should be in WoA but aren’t (if I’m remembering correctly).

Ah, missed that. Well, there ya go.

He also does it near security cameras.

This is something I probably never would have learned if not for Cross-Progression still counting all the Featured Contracts I did on PS5 as completed on Steam, but Steam has an extra Featured Contract!

The A Day at The Races contract is located near the end of the FCs menu between The Green Butcher and Icarus on Steam…

…but it’s not present on PS5:

From its description, it seems like it was a special contract made for a speedrun competition to win a custom Hitman 2 Gaming PC from March 14 to March 24 2019 (just a bit late for me to enter). So that’s probably why it only shows up on PC. Anyway, with it done now I’ve truly completed all the FCs!

In almost ten years of playing Paris (!!!), I’ve never once thought to myself why there are windows on this wall directly behind the stage area until now. Its just a weird room with no doors/access that wouldn’t exist if the palace was a real building.
