Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

Alrighty so whoever has access to the closed alpha here on the forum it should be a done deal about this poster.

Around four-five months into the launch of Hitman: Absolution Square Enix released an article about how much in-game money had been earned through contracts mode.

Fun facts from the article:

  • First up, over $1.377 trillion has now been earned in with the mode. That’s $1,377,000,000.
  • The most played contract - “Silent and Deadly” on the PlayStation 3 - has been attempted 584,783 times.
  • In the Sniper Challenge pre-order bonus level, there have now been over 110 million kills.
  • The most-used method of killing in Hitman: Absolution is the Pistol, responsible for 37.83% of all NPC kills.

Also, IOI ran some sort of alternate reality game for Hitman: Absolution as a means of promotion. No one ever touched it or bothered to decode it apparently. It’s about Cosmo Faulker posting a bunch of stuff through his Google+ account :joy:

You can find a transcript of it at this link, with a lot of forum gibberish inbetween. Very cool ngl. Lore minefield.

A few of the original posts were archived actually.

I remember back when this ARG was released and how we on the forum took part in the game, tracking down Faulkner information and his hunt for 47. One of the more memorable promotions, something that keep the forum busy. I can’t believe that it has been 10 years ago.

“Is that… Pitbull??”

@Luiluix Super cool to see that the Hitman III artwork evidently is based on something so early in development, between the popped collar, the raised gun, tagline, and the red logo on grayscale. Makes me wonder now if the same poster is removed from 2016 Paris as well.

I found out that the Hippie in Santa Fortuna is the same guy you can find in Sapienza, this time he will be part of my scheming.

Wow so it is indeed that poster ever since? How could they nail down the H3 theme when Alpha 47 still was looking like a grandpa?

If it’s proven to be an easter-egg / foreshadowing it’s very interesting

They were already working on a new 47 design by the time of the first alpha and was nearly finished by the time of the second one that recently got released.

After looking through Hitmaps and investigating certain parts of the map myself, I can (mostly) confirm that Miami doesn’t have a single Car Battery in it.

And that’s… really strange. Did- did someone at IOI forget to put one in?
The level is all about racing, it’s literally about cars, there’s garages everywhere! It’s super strange that there’s not a single Car Battery on-location, at least in the areas where you’d expect to find one.
There’s a “Car Battery Charger”! But where’s the car batteries?! :upside_down_face:

This fact always annoyed me while playing Miami. I love electrocution accidents. Never really got to make a contract with this specific kill method there.
