Sapienza - Rocco’s PC screen shows Absolution’s Sniper Challenge Menu.

Rocco is actually a HMF member. There was a competition to get the high score in sniper challenge and the winner would be “put into the game.” I have forgotten who won though.

Hakan Abrak addresses the whole H2 level importation situation for the first time ever

Evidently, compromises and different publishers had meant complications with the game’s backend, which resulted in issues at launch when players were reporting issues with being able to import the content of the first two games into Hitman 3 without being forced to buy them again.

“I’m not going to defend it by saying that it’s a challenging thing to release a game, but I think we could have definitely double checked,” Abrak admits. “We should have maybe started a bit more support with external partners to help with the inflow of inquiries and issues that was linked to this. I think in some cases we were a bit slow to react quickly enough to people to assure them that this is being worked on.”

For one platform holder, the technical issue stemmed from a different publishing ID in the back end, requiring IO Interactive to basically create a new publishing ID so that Hitman 1 and 2 could be unlocked in Hitman 3 as one executable.

“We had to jump through hoops and learn things, and sometimes it was like, ‘Can this really be true?’,” explains Abrak. “We had to learn how to communicate and where to push the platform holders. Like, ‘This is awesome for you as well if you can have this functionality.’ On the other hand, there are some things we shouldn’t ask for because it’s too complex and they have obviously trillions of other clients.”

It falls very much in line with what @wincenworks as well as the rest of the forum staff have said, including a lot of members. But it’s nice to see IO tackle this subject, I don’t think it will change the perception of those who jumped the gun, for them the damage have already been done. Hopefully IO will learn and grow from this experience.

We also live in a time where game developers and publishers have to tread very carefully when dealing with reception.

Anyhow thanks for the article, then I got some bed time reading.

I don’t recall another game franchise doing what IOI did for Hitman 3 and port previous content forward for free like this. Especially through many other publishers.

The fact it was able to be pulled off, and for not even a small fee towards players, is still a little surprising to me. A month of having to wait could have been worse, I feel.

Did he ever put some pants on?

Gotta buy the Rocco DLC for that

Season of Rocco’s Pants?

IOI outsourced the cutscenes for HITMAN Season One to Platige Images, or rather, Square Enix did.

TIL that you can save up to one minute in Marrakesh’s cameraman opportunity by bumping into the journalists to skip their dialogues.

With the skips, i’m talking to Sandberg at 3:02.
If I do not interfere with the dialogue, i’m not talking to Sandberg until 4:01

I was dicking around in a Landslide featured contract since I lost SA. So I sniped 2 targets from the church tower. And as expected, nearby guards started shooting in my general direction. So, I was going to go down the drainpipe on the back. The moment I went over the ledge one of the guard’s shots released the bell, sending it crashing below. I’ve never seen that happen before. Pretty funny.

Don Yates will run to the shrine to pray when he’s all alone without any guards to protect him. Looks to be triggered similarly to how lockdown>panic works on Alma.
