Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

I was randomly doing research on the hippos in Colombia, and was surprised to find out Pablo Escobar had hippos on his estate. I feel like Rico Delgado and El Mijo could be a nod at this, since Rico is also a drug lord with a lavish mansion (and El Mijo, of course). Some people may have already known this, but I still find it pretty interesting.

It’s 100% a nod to Escobar. He had 4 when he died. They somehow* got into the wild and now there are way more than 4 of them.

I can’t remember if they were deliberately set free or if they just escaped captivity when they got hungry.

47 doesn’t worry about littering his clips…you think he’d care about potential evidence

Let’s not start the whole BM newspaper in newer Hitman games discussion again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I often wonder about that. In the 2016 launch trailer there was this really cool shot of him firing his gun and then catching his brass, which I’ve always wished was an animation actually in the game.

That’s why I always try to complete the mission without using more than the first full round of ammo.

You won’t accidently reload every time after shooting a camera, right? Well there’s no penalty of leaving a clip behind, it just feels safe to have a full clip in case I have to shoot more to make NPCs panic.

Or just use the HWK21 Covert with 20 rounds and save yourself all kinds of trouble. :B

Using the 5mm also makes sure you leave no clips behind. :stuck_out_tongue:

Need more shots? Bring the Hitman3 5mm pistol as well!

Not only that, It also leaves no cases!

A revolver would solve this magazine and shell casings issue as well.

Yes I know, I’m never getting a revolver )= I’ll just go cry some more now.

I was wondering about this, and I thought the canon answer could be that 47 never uses more than one clip during a mission. He doesn’t reload, so no clip is left behind. However, this is still unsatisfactory because each bullet would leave behind a casing (except for the Custom 5mm, as mentioned by @Urben, which uses caseless rounds). Yet even this weapon would leave behind the remains of the projectile.

I suppose only remaining answer is that 47’s clips and bullets are untraceable. If bullets have been used to kill a target, 47 will be long gone before any evidence is discovered. By that point it will already be obvious that the target has been shot. The bullet remnants won’t reveal any new information to investigators, so why waste precious time doing unnecessary clean-up? The imperative is to leave the area as fast as possible. Prolonging departure just increases the only real danger - being caught in the act.

Things my wife just found out about Hitman…that the picture in our kitchen isn’t just of a serene Italian coastal town. She wasnt overly impressed at the realisation.

Did she never wonder why it says “HITMAN” instead of… Idk, “Live, laugh, love” or whatever? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I mean there is “Hitman” at the bottom.

She’s not overly observant……

Like an easily distracted enforcer I suppose. Maybe that’s why I love her.

You have to remember when c47 came out video games were less technically accurate and a lot more inspired by John Woo films. The combat reloads where you fling out the old mag and already have the replacement in hand ready go is pretty cool looking. I’m sure this is why the animation came that way and 16 year old me thought it was totally bad ass :joy:

But yea I like your head cannon of totally untraceable rounds, probably made by some division of ICA and they use a brass mixture sourced from many countries so that any lab is just totally confused :joy:

You should totally get a very similar poster with a real photo of Vernanza from a similar vantage point. Either in that style of art or maybe a real photo. Same size and put it up somewhere else in the house. That way she can be doubly impressed. Be careful though!! This may result you being commanded to book a vacation to this place for both of you.

That’s because that’s a magazine not a clip. I recently learned the difference since I got into guns only a year ago. Not trying to offend anyone.

I’m a bit late on posting this but just recently I’ve found out about some of the original Red Dragon/Blue Lotus designs from Codename 47.

Original Red Dragon model, posted this in the concept art thread some time ago.

In these next screenshots you can see more NPCs with a similar looking design, but you might also notice the slight blue tint on certain parts of their outfit if you look close.

Also these guys below, they don’t look much like either but I’m inclined to believe they’re Blue Lotus. This is from very very early builds of the game, pre-2000.

EDIT: Also, in the E3 trailer of the game:

A target image using the model

EDIT 2: You can see in the E3 trailer and in this video below at 0:46 that he replaced the dummy in the pre-release game.
