Unpopular opinions about Hitman

I prefer the Amt Silverballer and always have, even if it’s as unpractical as a bald assassin with a barcode on the back of this head. It’s rather easy to gesture to the overall franchise to why one should not take it to serious.

You’re all wrong. The weapons in Hitman are all boring interchangeable toys that are entirely subordinate to the writing which is amazing.

47 without at least some 1911 variant would be like not having his barcode or red tie.
having a glock in his arsenal makes sense, but to have had it as his iconic posing gun for all the artworks just wouldn’t have been so sexy. I think 1911 was a perfect choice but if it HAD to be something else I’d go with Berettas

btw what is the deal with his gloves in the WoA trilogy?
he seems to never have them in-game but at least they appear in most promo material.

A lot of the in mission dialog is great. 47’s quips, the silly conversations NPCs have, the target setups, etc. The overall plot writing though… it’s never been great in any of these games, IMO.

I think he wears them in the cutscene before Mendoza.

You bought them through your ICA laptop, so presumably they did the middle man work, but what was available depended on where you were and the type of job you were doing so presumably they were sourced locally and “cleaned” by the ICA to make sure nobody could trace them.

Then the Silverballers just became this thing he apparently travels everywhere with, along with whatever he decided to take out of his garden shed. SAD.

sure, the incidental dialogue, murder puns and all that are fun and work for the game. i don’t think it’s amazing though, is it…?

I kind of miss some of the ‘Professional’ difficulty quirks from H1
Being suspicious if you walk around with a screwdriver or hammer out (unless you’re a maintence guy) or by having the non standard-issue guns when disguised as a guard. Has a bit more realism to things, It’s a shame they outright removed it all

Episodic format is better than having the entire game on one set date. It makes you replay the levels you do have and the developers get more time to put more effort and creativity in

I feel the same. Loved season 1 for that reason

I don’t think this is an unpopular or popular opinion, because people don’t seem to bother with stuff like this. But I figured this thread is the best place for nitpicking and nagging, SO…

The Haven guards have the worst guard design in WOA. It makes no sense! If they wanted to show that the guards wear casual civilian clothes - look at the Villa guards from either Sapienza or Santa Fortuna, who all have different clothes. The idea of guards buying the whole stock of blue or red shirts is just laughable. And if this is a “uniform”, then there are actual uniforms, military and whatever outfits, that definitely won’t be confused with the guests clothes. Or is there a rule at Haven that prohibits the wearing of blue or red shirts by the guests? Haha.

Santa Fortuna’s Shaman Hut is the worst starting location ever.

That groaning woman makes my neighbours think I’m watching porn on a loop.

the kind of braindead take you would expect from “flatearthgoth”. except that last point, i would like the EMP to have some more use

I really don’t like that you cannot use the same disguise anymore. For me part of the aesthetic is walking around with clothes I think look cool, even if there is no use in-level. So to me there’s a big difference between walking around as the guard with the orange shirt in Sapienza or the guy with the white vest, but the game doesnt let me be a fashionista anymore
