Story aside and speaking purely about style. I preferred H2’s slideshow cutscenes to H3’s in-engine cutscenes
I wouldn’t go that far but yes these slideshows are criminally underrated.
I think they wasted a lot of future writing potential by killing off Grey. Considering the only two famous hitman characters are 47 and Diana, reducing the surviving characters like that results in every entry existing in its own vacuum and thereby hindering future installments from having interconnecting elements and makes the world building much less organic.
I also think IOI should’ve gotten much more backlash for the butchered release of Hitman 3 and for using the same, if not more, anti-consumer methods even after all the “we can finally make the hitman game we want” PR.
Agree with this. I love H3, but for some reason IOI has gotten an easy pass on some of the problems of release and online only functions of a single-player game.
Shame.
I wouldn’t say thaaaaaaaaat, they were pretty good for what the animator tried to accomplish & their skillset. My guess is it was animated by the same person who did the Mission Briefings in S1, those were all static images too.
I really liked this one.
Yeah, now that you mention it, you’re definitely right about that.
necessity is the mother of invention and all that. just didn’t pay off in this case
I’m willing to let it go since H3 more than paid but why does 47 have 2 phones? It’s not like it was really necessary to show us that it was someone from the ICA on the line?
Isn’t that other thing a tablet?
I liked Victoria but I think she was underused.
I’m assuming it’s so if he’s on a call on one, Diana can just call him on the other.
You may be right there. Still seems unnecessary to route a phone call through…an encryption app? is that a thing?
The number that only Diana has, I like this idea…
Maybe he has two Families he keeps secret from each other, because he’s a Polygamist
47: “I need to put you on hold. One moment.”
47: “It’s me.”
Diana: “I finished the background check on that mechanic, he has a gambling addiction and is going through a messy divorce - there could be an in there.”
47: “Thanks.”
47: “Thank you for holding. Now about the quote on that oil change…”
Absolution has had more interesting concepts during its development compared to all the other games.
Absolution also has some of the best variety for levels in a HITMAN game despite it taking most of its time in America.
Care to elaborate? Interested to know why you’d think that (not that I agree or disagree)
For concepts I think the idea that Victoria was originally suppose to be a little girl would of been interesting. Along with 47 being homeless and the whole idea of improvised weapons like your tie being a fiber wire of sort.
As for levels for HITMAN Absolution we had
-
A Chinese New Year Level
-
Strip Club
-
Terminus Hotel
-
Hippie Drug Den being raided by Cops
-
A Bar
-
A Gun Shop
-
Streets Of Hope
-
A Wrestling Event
-
A Motel Under Siege
-
A Court House
-
Blackwater Park/Penthouse
-
Police Station
-
Dexter Industries
I know I’m missing a few, but we got a lot of variety from this game for it being based in Midwestern United States for the majority of it.
Run For Your Life is pretty diverse for one level. Rooftops, library, hippie drug den, subway station.
The Library Part is so good, its so intense when you play it for the first time.
If only the levels weren’t split into smaller chunks…
