I think all four are wünterful.
I do think that in terms of how a traditional Hitman level plays out, Die Hard 2 is a poor argument. All in all I’m not really interested in an Air Port level, Air ports are horrible places and often very boring in terms of “design”.
Ive watched that movie 5 times, the first die hard being my favorite action flick of all time, though yea i get why youd bring that up
I agree. An airport probably isn’t that great for Hitman. My point was: An airport can be an interesting setting for action (construction, restricted areas, high profile guests, …). We kind of had an airport level with the bank in New York. The same premise just a different setting. I would prefer a level at a carnival (not abandoned) or some street festival. Yes, we had stuff like this in the past. Those were my favorites!
I do understand where you where going with the argument. Yet I still felt it important to look at it from a Hitman gameplay perspective. Any other game, yes it could be fun. Hitman not so much.
No, it’s different. It’s not a massive step down from the older games, it’s a step in a different direction. The older games’ tone fitted Jespers’ music, and Niels music fits this trilogy. The music in H2 and H3 are plenty atmospheric, so stop with that nonsense too.
My disappointment when I saw 47’s in-game model in Hitman 2016 was immeasurable.
IOI robbed us of this absolute GIGACHAD.
Is this wild-eyed freak seriously the best IOI could do in the year 2016?
Just fucking lol
Hitman 3’s 47 model is Agent 47’s initial WoA promo appearance done justice. Shoutout to the legend himself Per Häggmark! You are the man and you don’t get enough credit!
If IOI has any sense at all, they won’t deviate from Agent 47’s Hitman 3 look too drastically in the future. Maybe make his eyes a bit more narrow and deeper set as they are in the Hitman 1 promo art above, but that’s really it.
Hitman 2’s main theme is “clock go tick”. Catchy I’ll say, but a precipitous step down from the music of old in terms of atmosphere.
I want them to keep the face model they have for him now, but bring back the glowing, glowering, glaring blue eyes of doom that he had in Absolution. Especially when he was talking with Birdie, his eyes were fucking terrifying then.
No it is not, that is only an element of it. You are deliberately missing out elements of that track. Here, take a listen:
It’s sorrowful, a little bit hopeful, and a little bit melancholy. It directly reflects 47’s mood in the game, trying to get back what he lost so many years ago. It’s honestly quite a nice tune to listen to, and is very appropriate for the game.
The only track that could even be close to your description is the music of Golden Handshake, and that has a goddamn clock in the level, and the music uses it as a motif throughout. It’s also not the only part of the tune either.
As I said, it’s different, not worse.
Say, you being the resident expert on 47´s head model… Does it change slightly in certain disguises in H3, or is that just my imagination caused by the shape/width of certain suits?
They’ll always change his face, it seems to be tradition at this point.
Not just you, IOI had to fix this about a year back. It’s still an issue, but you have to REALLY look for it.
Literally unplayable, 0/10
Man, don’t even get me started! (LINK) It is precisely my biggest gripe with Hitman 3. No other issue in Hitman 3 compares in gravity to the inconsistent use of Hitman 3’s Agent 47 3D head mesh/model in Hitman 1 legacy map disguises (and in Sniper Assassin standalone missions (LINK)). It’s fucking bullshit, man. Per Haggmark so clearly put so much effort into 47’s Hitman 3 model, and IOI just mucks it all up in Hitman 1 legacy map disguises (and Sniper Assassin maps); too careless, or perhaps outright too lazy, to make the necessary headpiece adjustments (goggles, glasses, etc.) to fit the Hitman 3 head model (namely the cranial region). A brazen lack of polish and finesse for an AAA developer today.
There are no excuses for this kind of crap in an AAA game of the common era. A fix was applied in the 2021 July patch that remedied precisely the issue I’m bitching about… except only for the affected starting suits, not in-level Hitman 1 legacy map disguises that are so blatantly fucked, or the Sniper Assassin Agent 47 head mesh. What a tragedy.
So, to answer your question specifically, yeah. The “ugly head”/“egg head”/“misshapen would-be Patrick Stewart head” that you’re seeing is a sorta’ Frankenstein of the cranial region from the previous WoA games’ 47 head mesh(es) and the mid-face and lower-third of Hitman 3’s 47 head mesh. It’s nightmarish and why I don’t even play Hitman 1 legacy missions all that much unless I’m doing suit only runs (except Colorado, which I prefer to SASO more often than not anyhow).
Would you believe that this take is something of an unpopular opinion? World’s gone mad, I tell ya’.
What a disgusting thought. Anything drastically deviating from Per Haggmark’s model will almost certainly be worse, just as Absolution’s model was worse than Blood Money’s by miles, because Per Haggmark’s model is already so close to the ideal 47 look, both in terms of general real world aesthetics and in-universe canon.
The eyes of a man who has gazed into the abyss…
Is it that his eyes have a “glow” that could actually translate to WoA in-game, or is it because of the insane bloom effect in Absolution?
If I’m nitpicking, his eye color in Hitman 3 is a bit too close to Alexandra Daddario territory; unfortunately not as terrifying and “doom-ish” as his eye color in Absolution overall.
From gigachad to TERACHAD.
I’m not even sure if you’re being unironic or not in your anger, Calm the hell down.
And then killed it.
