Upcoming Video Games

I remember playing both when they were new and I haven’t played either of them since probably 1989 or so. I don’t even have much of an interest in any of the later titles from either franchise and I wouldn’t bother buying a modern console, but those first versions - I’d like to revisit those.

When is that even gonna come out? (if ever?) :joy:

I would hope that Todd just wanted his name slapped on an IJ game and was not involved in any direct way.

Wasn´t sure what to expect of the game up until now, since they hadn´t said or shown anything up until the trailer, but after watching it, I´m rather excited. It´s got a globetrotting story (including Egypt), Nazis, Marcus… I´m happy and hope it will turn out to be a (very) good game.

Edit: wtf is with my imgur links dude wtf
Ehh i can just post them from my phone tho heh

So! The Last of Us Remastered is out Today/Now! (Depending on what your Playstation’s definition of Today/Now is I guess lol)

So, if your region’s timezone is now on January 19th, you should be able to get your PS4-To-5 Upgrade now!

I got mine for 15 bucks CAD and that’s pretty sweet. Can’t wait to see how that Roguelike mode is tomorrow. Cool that you can decide to download the Story or No Return first! (I chose No Return and it has to download about half the game before you can play. Total is around 76GB btw…)

Also, apparently the game is in some weird “limbo” mode regarding when it comes out (IDK what specific time, but the store page still lists the game as a pre-order.
And funny enough, even though you weren’t supposed to be able to “pre-order” an upgrade, because I’m quick in this weird limbo period, I got my upgrade for cheap and got the pre-order bonus! (It’s just the same as the PS4 version’s, but at least I’ll have the option to enable it on both versions now!

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t smile throughout the entire trailer. The game looks solid and I hope Godd delivers the goods.

Huh. Is he voiced by Troy Baker? Cause it kiiinda sounds like Troy Baker to me… (and I kinda hope not?)

From the YT comments, it’s indeed Troy.

Aww.

I mean, he’s putting on a good Indy impression that I almost thought it was someone else playing him, but I can stiiil just barely hear that usual Troy Baker twinge in his voice, and that’s putting me off a little bit
Sorry troy

Since Secret of Mana is my favorite RPG of all time, I’m so fucking excited to play this game! It seems to be a perfect mix of nostalgia and new things to me

Game looks promising and a fun 15-25ish hour adventure. The Writers understand Indy especially at that point in the continuity where he isn’t pre ToD profit earning Indy and is post a Raiders Indy where he is more focused on preservation of artifacts.

I also like how they’re not skipping on the mocap for these stunts/set pieces so props to the stunt actors doing these stunts.

Game looks promising with my only issue being Troy Baker voicing Indy. Which brings me into this.

I wouldn’t call it “Good” since in the past we got non Harrison Ford voice actors doing pretty spot on performances. Troy Baker as Indy is a performance that will be on par with his performance as Ocelot and you’re either gonna like it or not like it. Hearing the voice I hear Troy through and through, it’s just Troy doing Troy’s standard v.o voice.

It’s an interesting creative choice by whoever hired the talent for this game and I’ll simply need to see more.

(I assume this is the correct thread cause even though it’s about post-launch content it’s for a game that’s still upcoming)

So I was initially apprehensive about Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, but over the past few weeks I’ve been coming around to the game and am actually getting pretty excited for it! Today they released the third and final insider video:

It starts off by talking about the leaderboards and shows off a few of the cosmetics the game will be getting. Then they showed off the first character who will be added post-launch: The Joker! And since he’s from a different universe it doesn’t take away from his death in the main Arkhamverse. They showed some of his traversal and gameplay and even showed a bit of the story cutscenes with him! I suppose since they delayed the game a year they have most of this early post-launch stuff already completed.

Also in the video they showed some of the playable environments they’re adding to the game, with the first being a Joker-themed wonderland! They also briefly showed some of the later season’s environments: a snow-bound world (presumably with an accompanying ice-themed villain) and a world that’s a throwback to the old Arkham games with buildings like the Asylum from Asylum and the GCPD building from Knight.

They also posted this image showing off all the stuff coming in Season 1. Funnily enough the thing I’m most hyped for is New Riddler Content, cause I love doing the Riddler collectibles in the Arkham games and looking at footage there seems to be a lot less Riddler stuff than the other games. Only 40 trophies to find? Come on!

If the 3 other seasons have a similar amount of content added there will be a ton of meat on this game’s bones! It’s really impressive that it’s all free too, they’re only charging for cosmetic stuff. Plus, even though they’re labelled as “seasons”, the content isn’t time-limited and will be permanently accessible down the road (well, once they add the promised offline mode).

Nothing makes me less enthused for a DC product than seeing the Joker especially since the thing that made the Arkham-verse unique was they had the guts to kill him off.

You don’t like good things, do you.

Yep, fuck The Joker. All my homies hate the The Joker

Must have some lame homies, man. There’s never been a story that didn’t increase in interest when the Joker got involved. Even the actual SS movie improved with him, which admittedly wasn’t a high bar to clear.

How can you say that? Leto’s version of the Joker is so bad it brings the movie down more than thought possible.

I rate the fucking Penny Plunderer over The Joker. I would rather Rocksteady give the Condiment King his own season.

Haha, yeah so much that he is like the most important side character and the story still revolves around him and he has probably more voice lines than Batman.

If you ask me the Joker needs to retire for the next 10 Years.

Yeah I know but it is still bad but it’s a better attempt than DC has ever made plus the game does end up completely deconstructing the Joker’s behaviour and makes the last moments of his conscious thought as painful as possible. So I chalk that up as a double win in my book.

Leto’s version had a diamond hidden inside a dirt clod. The cuts that the studio forced the director to take are so obvious that the movie wasn’t so much edited as outright gutted, and I could see a brilliance in what Leto brought that just wasn’t allowed to really shine. No Heath, sure, but still something that made an actual Joker, and so much of it was cut out. Even still, it helped elevate the film, because the actual story was beyond flimsy and going nowhere, while his little interjections helped distract from the monotony.

I will agree with this, not so much because of people being over exposed to the character or anything, but because they’re not being exposed to a properly balanced version of the character. Mark Hamill’s version was the last one to show the character as funny, wild, crazy, scary, murderous, and philosophical. Because of Heath’s performance being so great, it’s had the unfortunate effect of everyone since then who had brought the character into the story to only be interested in the crazy, scary, murderous, and philosophical parts. Aside from Hamill’s rare performance here and there, that’s all the Joker has been allowed to be for the last 15 years; a glorified Hannibal Lecter in makeup. Every writer has lost sight of the fact that he’s supposed to also be actually funny and have completely wild plans that make no sense and often go nowhere important. Give the character a rest for a while so that someone can have an idea for the character that runs the full spectrum and doesn’t just use him as a flamboyant serial killer. Certainly as far as video games are concerned, now that Hamill has hung up the laugh (although Troy Baker is a decent replacement when needed).
