I was a fan of the original game, but after so many years I would expect some new gameplay innovations. I am not sure there are many and will try it on gamepass. And please for once make the AI smart and not stupid, take cover before shooting back…
It’s been so many years since the last game in the series (CoP in 2009) and all the difficulties GSC had; canceling STALKER 2 in 2011 and GSC being closed, finding a publisher for the revived S2, war in Ukraine, multiple delays; that I’m just happy to see a new one be released
They could tweak the AI to be as brutal as it is in those popular STALKER mods like Anomaly / Gamma but then most people would say that it’s too hard
This guy also made The Procession to Calvary which was GREAT.
For folks in the middle of the Venn diagram of:
-classic point-and-click adventure games
-Pythonesque humor
-fart history
Punchy gun sounds AND the ability to switch custom parts on the fly? Me likey
And no more “gun jammed, please reload” messages and actually see the weapon getting jammed
Okay, so I’ve been thinking more about the Indiana Jones game, and I’m really worried the Disguise Stealth sections could be the worst parts of the game - depending on how they function.
It’s a neat mechanic to throw in there. Very Hitman-like yeah?
But… I can’t help but wonder: what is the “fail-state” to this stealth? I highly doubt if you’re discovered suspicious in the Church mission shown off for instance, a priest is gonna engage in fisticuffs with you.
Possibly, there’s some civilian/guard alert system, but then, is there also a disguise compromised system too?
They didn’t really show off what happens when “something goes wrong/you slip up” so I feel like there’s a good chance it’s an annoying insta-fail stealth level. I don’t see them adding in a whole alert system for a few scripted disguise missions…
I remember seeing in some of the gameplay footage of a group of guards asking disguised Indy to bring them a bottle and starting to get annoyed before the player gave it to them. It seems likely that just the guards in the room would get alerted if they didn’t get the bottle.
Presumably it’s less like Hitman where there are enforcers who will compromise your disguise no matter what and being compromised can spread all over the map and it’s more just little tests to try to blend in to certain areas of each level which are isolated from each other.
A non-Hitman game with a disguise-based stealth mechanic that sucks? Get outta here!
A proper trailer for the new Professor Layton game, looks fun. Still just for “2025” at the moment though.
Wake up, sleeper. Citizen Sleeper 2 releases January 31 on all platforms.
Also on Game Pass day one, if you’re one of those Xbox heathens.
It looks so good shame it’s currently midnight for me and I feel to tired to watch the game awards
The Witcher 4
The Spire kicks ass… and so shall I.
Warren Spector is a legend to me but I am extremely skeptical of this… I can just hope his team has managed to make something special here.
Deus Ex Invisible War is better than people give it credit for.
@Silvereyes will be delighted to know there will a new Sonic Racer game.
Damn the guys behind Tales From The Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us stole my idea of a superhero video game where you dispatch superheroes to events and coordinate them all.
Dispatch looks interesting
My Finnish spirit guide is onstage right now as well.
New Naughty Dog game…with a soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (and an assist from the Pet Shop Boys).
Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.
