DAMN IT ZA/UM!!
(What was this, scat? Some leaked preview of what would have been their next project when the OG studio heads/writers were there? I was expecting some spiritual successor video, but if it’s being copyright claimed…)

Whatever your thoughts are on being able to acquire a Switch 2, the games themselves shown all look really great and have that Nintendo creativity and iteration we’ve come to enjoy and look forward to.
The reveal that the new Mario Kart will essentially be Open-World, in some sort of Free Drive mode is really interesting.
Because for instance, the game itself mostly works the same as your usual Mario Kart. Various cups with different themed tracks, and that’s that.
But each track takes place on a much grander overworld, they’re just kinda sequestered to a specific path when doing an actual race?
I wonder if this means each “biome/area” might have multiple tracks or versions of a track. It would be cool to be able to set up custom race routes yourself either for local or online sharing.
I’m very interested to see what this game has to offer when that full MKW Direct drops.
ALSO – since I’m just getting to the Switch 2 Edition Upgrades part of the Direct – it’s worth it to note how Nintendo usually makes very stylized games that aren’t super graphically intensive, usually very polished, as part of their first-party quality standard. And it must be important they chose to use a 120fps / 120hz screen for the Switch 2, and most of their own games will support that.
For current ‘Next Gen’ big budget, detailed, highly realistic games on PS5 and Xbox and their beefy consoles, the current standard is usually 4K 30fps in Quality Mode and 1080p 60fps in Performance Mode.
So it’s really interesting to see Nintendo come out randomly with a PS4-Pro-ish powered console, and start showing off how some games like Metroid Prime 4 will target 4K 60fps Quality and 1080p 120fps Performance – with the same frame rate kept in Handheld Mode too!
Wild! In my opinion…
It was a collection of materials from a project that would have seen you play as Cuno and Cunoesse I believe.
Ohh. okay, that would have been uhh… quite the crazy experience…
(I don’t know if those two get any better, I’ve only played Elysium up to mid-Day 2, all I got from Cuno and Cunoesse were insults, racism, and homophobia )
Indeed it would have the entire second half of the game was supposedly set in Cunoesse’s hometown in Not-Finland if I recall correctly.
What as people? Because Cuno can show a lot of development as a person if you take the time to get to know him in a meaningful way and not be put off by his attitude.
Yeah, as people. Since just based on first impressions, I don’t know how playing as them in a game would be a fun or pleasing experience…
Like, I know that Disco Elysium is/can be a gritty, raw, soul-crushing experience of a game already (the tagline of the game being “Become an Absolute Disaster of a Human Being”) so I’m sure it wouldn’t hold back on tackling darker uncomfortable themes. I just don’t exactly see… how Cuno and Cunoesse would work as playable characters, given their politically-incorrect biases being shown off Day 1.
But again, I’ve only played through part of the game, and I’m sure they have room to develop or possibly even grow as characters by the end (if not then at least delve deeper into their characters – both clearly having some mental illness, dysfunction, and I think Cuno has some daddy issues and/or drug problems?)
Edit: DM me if you want to chat about this some more, I don’t wanna derail this thread just for Elysium lol, it’s great there’s so much to talk about though.
Nah it’s fine, you just need to play more of the game I reckon.
@TheChicken I mean whether you do or you don’t, Cuno doesn’t fuckin care.
I couldn’t resist.
[Drama]: He really doesn’t care.
Blue Prince was not on my radar until yesterday. Looks like an “instant classic.”
I look forward to playing this once my life isn’t so chaotic and I can properly game again.
This can fit here because of Early Access right?
I just found out that the devs behind the very successful First Person Endless-Runner “Into The Dead” just released a spinoff or new entry in the series that really changes things up.
The new entry is a slower paced, side-scrolling survival management game!
Much different and more long-form than the original’s Mobile-friendly “one quick run” repetitive structure.
This looks pretty cool and I hope it does well, I might even pick it up at some point. (I’m getting This War of Mine and Deadlight vibes from it…)
Old Mobile Game for reference (it’s also very good!)
ALSO! Another Early Access game Prince of Persia The Rogue, got an update and is letting customers know of an upcoming Price Increase and Sale!
That’s amazing PR and comsumer-centric thinking. Really gotta praise them for that.
(I guess now I know I’ll be picking the game up in the next sale, since I’ve been quite interested for a while, and this sale price might be the lowest it’ll be in a while, if it’ll start going up from here till release… I like deals in this economy hehe)
Price increase in May
We will finally be doing the first price increase for The Rogue Prince of Persia on the 22nd May, to 24.99€/$. [Euro/USD]
This is to reflect the new level of content in the game, which has expanded considerably since our Early Access launch (nearly one year ago already WHAAATT).
The game will be on discount in a couple of weeks, so people still have a chance to grab the game at a crazy price before the increase kicks in.
This thing actually came out Day One on the PS Plus Extra catalog!! Been hearing really good things about it (well mostly that people really enjoy it and just say “just play this its really good”
I don’t think I’ve seen any trailers for this at all, its not been on my radar…
From what I can tell from the description, its like a roguelike puzzle game about exploring an endless house? But there is some sort of story progression end point like Hades… Cool, will download it then.
Oblivion Remake released. For once; Bethesda has finally dropped a good game. (Not really even Bethesda, it was Virtuos, Bethesda is only really good at rereleasing Skyrim every year.) I was excited for the remaster, I consider Oblivion to be one of the greatest open world games out there, and I enjoyed it. It has the same funny NPC nonsense the original had. It’s kind of just like a really modded Oblivion, the AI is all the same and the voice actors didn’t change. (Not that that’s bad…) Im like 4 hours in and I plan on finishing it. Only real downgrade it got was that the enviroments were made all grey and gloomy.
Tbh the remaster is just a coat of paint over the OG game which is still Beth’s creation. I still don’t know how they managed to port the game to Unreal 5 and update the visuals to today’s standards but keep all the quirks of the original. I wouldn’t have it any other way since all the oddities are part of Oblivion’s charm
