Upcoming Video Games

Oh, definitely, I´m sure the assets/textures will be of high quality. It´s more the “liveliness” of the world that I´m wondering about. Like both the first and second trailer (as well as the screenshots) have a lot going on at one moment (in terms of NPCs and their activities, vehicles, animals, etc.), to the point where they actually feel too “overcrowded”, so I´m curious whether it´ll be the same in-game.

Good for you my man!

Yeah, that silence was weird… Even if they were still managing a 2025 release, some of this info should´ve come sooner.

I agree with @lukefsje as well. It´s kinda wild actually when remembering the pace and variety of R* releases back in the 00s, compared to the fact that this will only be their second game in nearly 13 years since the release of GTAV… I don´t necessarily need a new game every 2 years from them, but it would be nice if they squeezed in a smaller project or two between the big releases. Especially since their “industry-leading” element lies really solely in the quality and detail of the open world rather than anything else. Dunno if they simply don´t have any ideas/ambitions beyond that, or it´s more the consequence of how the online part of GTA became such a massive income stream that T2 won´t settle for anything less profitable…

Never been there, so I wouldn´t know :man_shrugging:

I fully understand your skepticism of it feeling too lively and crowded. Some scenes are downright unreal looking in the current gaming landscape. Mainly the beach and club scenes from trailer 1. I dont know if there’s anything to that level in trailer 2 imo.

Color me surprised if that beach clip with hundreds of NPCs is actually ingame open world gameplay and not a cutscene/mood sizzle thing.

Heheheh, while it definitely doesn’t compare in scope or size, I want to shout out this gem of a game:

The Wolf Among Us.

It’s only One Month younger than GTA V!

Announced, then a studio bankruptcy/closure, then revived, then announced again, and then delayed delayed delayed… from “nothing to show this year at the Game Awards!” to complete silence…

I wish we got a Trailer 2 for this game…
(Or given how New Telltale has been going - ‘The Expanse’ was super short, baffling, and dull - maybe not…) :downcast_face_with_sweat:

(At least we have Adhoc Games with Dispatch coming soon!!)

They’re releasing a “normal” (non-VR) version of Alien: Rogue Incursion in September for PS5 and PC.

Looking at the reviews, it seems like it’s a bit more action-focused than I’d like (like every Alien game but one ), but apparently it gets the atmosphere right, so I’ll probably end up trying it at some point. Tide me over until Isolation 2.

Interesting… I really hope there might be a discount incentive at the very least for VR owners already… (I own the game, haven’t checked it out yet, but might be quite the terrifying VR experience which might be tough to complete… and I’d rather not double dip.)
The lack of any info on this despite a set release date in 4 months is honestly a bit concerning…

Seems the website is listing the “Evolved Edition” and “VR Edition” as two seperate titles. Odd.
Among Us 3D just came out and that’s just a flat-screen hybrid update to the previous VR version.

Also I guess 20th Century is trying some new cohesive marketing strategy for the IP.
First we have a new edition of the Alien TTRPG called “Evolved Edition” and now this? Huh.

Warning: the physical PlayStation 5 version of Doom: The Dark Ages does not contain the full game on the disc. Instead, the disc includes only a small installer file—approximately 85 MB—that requires an internet connection to download the complete game, which is about 85 GB in size .

Good PSA. Thankfully, I have fully embraced digital games and haven’t had a physical copy of anything since GTA 5. It sucks for those who care about it though.
