I am very disappointed with Mario Kart World. It’s not bad, its just boring… which is probably worse :frowning:

I can understand that I’m really liking it though

Hmm there are some really cool features in the new one, I really enjoy the character selection, but not the way you unlock them all, and that UI sucks especially if you’re playing with more people on splitscreen. And the some of the tracks they picked just suckkkkk Koopa Troopa Beech being one. Also those interlude tracks suck, none of them are good to play and it stings all the worse when it cuts a good track to one lap.

You know what isn’t boring? Classic RE 2 and 3. I’m having the time of my life with these games. It’s a really funny experience for someone who started with the remakes. It’s like one of my favourite modern games got a PS1 remake lmao. I love it. 3 is particularly moody and way better than its remake.

Besides those things I’m still having fun though

I currently play the Outer Wilds DLC “Echoes of the Eye”. I had much fun with the base game a few years ago but never tried the DLC because I heard of mixed feelings as it seems to have stealth / horror elements.

But whatever, I got it on sale some time back and try it now. I did not yet get to these parts though.

Previously I played the “Unfinished Business” standalone game of Robocop. It was kinda boring but I loved the cheesy lines. I always go for the “only cold-hearted robocop follows the law to the letter” decisions.

I also play BLACKSHARD on the side which is a walking simulator in a huge megastructure. It is comparable to the older, free game NaissanceE but improved on all levels. It is purely exploring abstract environments and for that I love it.

True! Also it had the superior Ivy design. Vaguely human shaped plant monster? Yes please. Just some lame zombies with some sprouts? Get fucked.

Also why no spiders in the remakes? I don’t like spiders, they’re spooky and disgusting, but thats the whole point, right?

Smh you come in with Cow positivity and everyone’s trying to shut you down with “actually I think MKW is bad because” negativity. You go enjoy that game, dude!:+1:

Spring of 2012 I was introduced to Metal Gear through the Snake Eater 3D Demo leading to the series having a strangle hold on me since then.

2015 I worked odd jobs and traded in games for my preorder of MGS V TPP

August 25th 2025 I got back to the beginning.

K yeah unlocking characters and costumes is real slow but hey I got the second best character in this roster now

Also why does dk only get a single costume :broken_heart:

Bananza most likely. It was the New DK design and chances are possible DK costumes will be added in an update that brings K Rool and Void Kong since their VA are credited but aren’t anywhere in the game.

Delta is good!

It’s a 1-1 Remake as advertised. Konami played it very safe with any additions not being gratuitous.

Plenty of QoL changes too that make keeping track of collectibles and of course learning what specific camos really make all the difference.

I think the biggest complaint I have is the new control scheme.

The Bosses aren’t really balanced with it in mind and so for instance with the aim assist in console during The End you can easily target him when he is fleeing, but with it being a 1-1 Remake this should of been expected.

The same can be with enemies aswell. The PW sneaking suit from the deluxe edition is OP given it’s noise canceling features paired with something like the EZ Gun it makes any encounter have no challenge.

I like the new details they added. Watching my Uniforms get destroyed and dirty depending on how and where I get damaged is a nice detail. And this extends onto Snakes Body where snake can develop injuries.

Another thing is while the cutscenes are beautiful, some have this weird fade in where you can see some visible frame drops. I chalked this up to UE5. But I’ve noticed everytime this fade in happens.

I’m currently working on my first playthrough which will largely be my unlock everything run before I have my playground playthrough where I actually use everything at my disposal.

Regardless I’m very happy with the turnout of this Remake. It’s a remake in a sense of this is how I remember Snake Eater looking. And not a let change XYZ.
Oh and Hideo Kojimas name is plastered all over the place so Konami didn’t retroactively erase him and his legacy.

As you can see beneath, I am playing metal gear solid 3.

Death Stranding

I said a few times on the forum that I was interested in the game, but it was not on xbox.
Since then it is, but it went past me.
Before I saw it on sale mid-july.

I was on holidays for the last two weeks, and did the bulk of the play of it during the heat waves and literal forest fire when and where I wanted to hike this summer.

It’s exactly what I hoped. I love it.
I already professed my love for:

  • vistas
  • desert or volcanic environment
  • traversal that go just a bit longer than usual so that you feel them (Primm to NCR outpost, my beloved)
  • purposeful gameplay
  • game rewarding planning and preparation
  • game that have a sense of terrified brutal awe toward violence and weapons, asking to avoid them

So, I liked the gameplay.

Also Desert Pink is an option for the ballcap.
It makes it one of the best game ever made in consequence.

I think I will replay it again one day, but without structure sharing.
It works well in the first half of the game, or if one only does the main orders.

By the end and full connections the world was too cluttered.
Especially when Director’s Cut structures unlocked. The game is supposed to limit itself to a limited density of each structure type. Since the Director’s Cut implemented new types, it went for them in addition.
Too many damned jumping ramps with their neons everywhere.

The story is also not that weird.
The story of the world is pretty straightforward.
The first hour does show a lot of it without any explanation to the player, and the characters are used to it, so don’t comment. But all is explained quickly after.

The characters, melodramas and story arcs being symbolic, linked to fundamental lore of the world, and having hidden or misleading relationships are very Kojima. And only laid bare at the very end. But it’s also obvious that it would be.

Made a zip-line network in the mountainous area, as is apparently tradition.

The north-west side to the Doctor, Photographer, and Novelist’s Son of it is vanity.
The rest were actually used in the play-through.

Opening joke aside. How is Metal Gear Solid Delta?
I’m interested in it. Or could go for MGS V.
I’m looking for either:

  • 15-20 hours long game for September / October week-ends
  • or a game that can be played in small 1-2 hours sessions to the end of the year.

And they seem to answer one each.

Snake Eater is roughly 10-12 hours for the main game and that exclusives Snake vs Mode and Guy Savage

I’m playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (the 2019 one). It’s the last one from the second trilogy that I’m missing. I’m only interested in the single-player mode. I have absolutely any interest in the multiplayer shit.

I started playing it, but since the beginning of August, my physical copy for PS5 is no longer being read. If I select the game, it takes me back to the purchase page on the PlayStation Store. I’ve read online that it’s a common problem.

Is anyone currently having this issue or have they had it? Did you resolve it? If yes, how? All the solutions I found on Reddit or Youtube don’t work.

Playing some more Cult of the Lamb, been fun to start getting buildings for my cult that makes it easier to get resources I need to expand it (and not rely so heavily on combat crusades)

By the way, the devs have a 24H livestream set up I think of lo-fi mixes of the soundtrack.

Plus, always great to revisit these animated trailers. They were so striking and probably really helped the game indoctrinate more people.

Little Under A Month Of Me Having A NIntendo Switch 2:

So I’ve had a Nintendo Switch 2 for a bit now, previously I swore off the system, simply because pricing the system and comparing hardware especially in a competitive handheld market the Steam Deck undoubtedly reigns supreme the Nintendo Switch 2 couldn’t possibly compete… right?

Well seeing price hikes for their older hardware I saw the writing on the wall. Gotta get it now before they inevitably hike up the stuff in the newer more powerful hardware. One System Bundle and a Pro Controller later I can safely bet the Nintendo Switch 2 is a strong Nintendo System.

I don’t know how Nintendo specifically does it but when a new generation of hardware begins for them it’s an equivalent of Christmas as a kid in terms of feeling. Something about that buying and lead up to unboxing doesn’t compare and this by extension is represented in the game experiences too.

For Games Nintendo is borderline unrivaled. It doesn’t matter how much of a titan you can be there’s just pure joy and bliss from driving around and going yahoo as Mario in Mario Kart World. Or the biggest thing for me playing/exploring the mysteries of Tears of the Kingdom at 1080p 60 FPS on handheld.

One of the biggest strengths I hope Nintendo focuses on in the Free NS2 updates for older games. It’s just a brilliant way to drive sales on these titles cause you effectively play better versions of these games. God knows it got me to buy a few games cause of it.

Echos of Wisdom, Mario Odyssey, Links Awakening, 3D World, etc. I really hope Legends Arceus, Skyward Sword, and Metroid Prime remastered/ Dread get proper updates too.

Overall consensus for me is as a First Party game system. The Switch 2 is where it’s strongest. I think Nintendo’s offering. Third Party is avoid simply for the fact of performance. The power of the system shines especially for games that previously struggled that got proper Switch 2 updates and that alone is something atleast for me worth my time.

Tears of the Kingdom on Switch 2 as it stands is the best game on the market currently.
