What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

I’ve been playing a bit of the Windjammers 2 Beta. It’s online and PvP only this time around (no Vs CPU Arcade Mode  )… It’s apparently for testing their net code. But I gotta say, once you learn the tricks/moves you can do, that’s only half of it. The other half is getting the disc past your opponent. I’m having a blast, even when I lose. I’ll play maybe 3 matches. The other day I was laughing so much that I got to coughing. Had to quit.

If you’re not familiar with the game, it could be best described as simply Pong… But evolved exponentially.

It’s free for the time being, until August 22nd. Here’s a tutorial vid describing some of the moves you can do.

Since my PC was in the local PC shop for a week, I’ve been playing the Kingdom Hearts collection on my PS5. Well, I say “playing”… I took @Swangtheugly advice and gave up on Chain of Memories and just watched all the cutscenes (barring the Disney scenes) on Youtube. Really god fed up of the card game mechanic quite quickly. Doesn’t help I chose to go to “Monstro” as my first world, and the first boss fight of that world has a gimmick where the floor is acidic and does constant damage and you have to jump around on tiny platforms. Probably alot easier later in the game when you are more powerful but this early on, it kicked my ass, and I just threw in the towel.

Feel slightly vindicated seeing how bad the plot is. I mean, wow, talk about dropping the ball. I guess there are some ideas here that will play out better over time, but really, I thought this was quite poor. Then I watched the 358/2 Days movie that comes with the collection. It was good and bad. I thought in the end it was alright. Obviously very badly paced since it is meant an adaptation of a game you’d play in small incriments over 25ish hours. But y’know, I’d be lying if by the end of I didn’t feel something.

So yeah, after doing what feels like homework, I finally hit Kingdom Hearts 2. I’m about 15 hours into it, and honestly, I’m mostly loving it. Like wow, this is like night and day after the first game. So many of my minor and major gripes have been fixed with this game. Having alot of fun, although even on normal mode I can definetly see how the difficulty seems to just fluctuate, especially in regards to what types of Heartless you encounter in what worlds. Like the T-Rex Heartless you find in the Pride Lands seem to be able to just juggle Sora and ignore his invicibility frames and just destroy half his health in a few seconds.

But yeah, KH2 is a fun time, and I hope KH3 is just as fun as this when I reach it. The Kingdom Hearts lore is certainly getting more convoluted as we go on, but honestly, I can’t say I hate it. I am getting more and more interested in seeing how things wrap up, even if part of me thinks it’ll probably just fall apart.

Anyway, I’m currently redownloading stuff for my PC at the moment. Will maybe move onto Two Point Hospital soon I think. Just thankful for cloud saves, I put 75 hours into Persona 4 Golden so far and after redownloading that, it seems all my save data survived, so I’ll probably return to that soon.

I will play anything on Switch and here I am with 2 newish ports I picked up just the other day. Enjoy both, didn’t play either game on better systems.

Did play DAH on PS2 but not the remake till now. These definitely aren’t ideal ways to play these games but if I wanted that I would have just bought them on Steam. Handheld is my go to

It is currently twelve minutes until Twelve Minutes releases.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’ll be playing this all morning.

Gosh I’m so excited for this game… Not sure though if I want to get it right now, wait for a Steam sale, or potentially a Playstation port.
I’ve checked, and most times Annapurna Interactive releases a game exclusive to PS4/XBO, it arrives on the other console between 3-5 months after release.

Ah, hell, I’ll probably buy it now on PC then just get it again later on a console if it ends up living up to my hype.

Reviews are in, it ranges from “great!” to pretty divisive, either about how the story unfolds or the gameplay (old-style point-and-click, little hand-holding).

Red Dead Online. Specifically, Call to Arms, which is like GTA Online’s survival modes. I’m also playing Tropico 6 as I’m a fan of city-building games.
BTW. If anyone wants to join in and help out in Call to Arms, my Xbox ID is CasualHitman483. Speaking of Xbox. I have Game Pass (GP) and am always looking for recommendations, so if there is a game on GP worth playing, let me know.

Apart from city building games, which you mentioned, are there particular genres that you like/dislike?

If you have the original version on Steam you get it for free

And if you have the home-brew ports of Quake on jailbroken Playstation Vitas you don’t get the remake but you can join me in the cool person club.

Just wrapped up 100% on the Iki Island expansion, I had a lot of fun with it and would recommend it if you enjoyed GoT. It took me around 20 hours and I would give it an 8/10

*Sad PC gamer noises

I dare say the noises are still quieter than the jet engine sound from PS4, whenever the Mumbai map is loaded. So don’t be sad.

It finally arrived, after being stuck in postal service limbo for about three weeks - Fuck Hermes, they are the fucking worst!

I have played it maybe 2h so far and its a quite simple and repetitive game, as i expected it from reviews to be.

But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion its the perfect game to jump in for for half an hour or so and just having a good time crushing cities and beating the ever living shit out of some legendary Kaijus - this game is basically a 3D version of the old Rampage Game.

Despite being a simple License Title, its clear the Team working on it where G Fans themselves, the Kaijus all look and sound movie accurate, they move slow and their steps feel earth shattering and i love the small details, like how the Buildings that are about to explode or crumble flash for a second, just as the Models in the old Movies did when the explosives inside of them got triggered, or how every rocket explodes in lots of sparks.

Is it a fantastic video-game on itself? Probably not.
Do i enjoy it regardless? Definitely yes.

I don’t regret spending that much money to get it.

Just begun playing the first expansion of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Wrath of the druids. It was hard to get into the game again, after being away from the title for a couple of months and having to figure out controls again. It took some time to get into the game and begin enjoying it, without getting frustrated by getting my virtual ass handed to me.

That said finally being able to put the end game weapons I grinded to a good use, felt great. Now I’m just an unstoppable force wielding Thor’s hammer Mjölnir and running around in his armour. I’m extremely overpowered. Running a Mjölnir shield combo, if that should get old I can always duel wield Excalibur and Mjölnir.

And it gets worse when you set the frame rate to “unlocked”. Screw the 60fps, I want to hear what Diana says
