What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

What did you think of the race level? That’s the level that most people talk about when it comes to Mafia DE :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Really is one of those levels that you inadvertently spend hours throwing yourself at only to turn down the difficulty and scrape by. Completely dashed my hopes and dreams of ever beating it on Classic difficulty  but it made me oddly happy seeing it was just as unreasonably difficult as the original. How’d you do?

Also, great timing– I 100% just saw a comment of yours on YouTube about Free Ride in the original!

I remember I spent almost an hour trying to beat it on Classic difficulty with Simulation handling. I was feeling like my heart was going to burst out of my chest but in the end I beat the damn thing and now I can do it with my eyes closed :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Haha, what was the video?

Damn it I have to go back and do it now. Absolutely love the comments from the racers when they’re overtaken… “Him?!!” Must feel pretty bad if you’ve been racing your whole life and some taxi driver fills in last minute and steals the race.

This one right here, unless someone stole the trademark pink background with Vito :

Nah, it’s mine, no one would have such bad taste for their avatars

I wanna give the game a go in the upcoming weeks. Sort of played it on my friend’s pc after it came out - mainly cause he wasn’t able to finish the race lol - but not on my own yet. But I’ll probably wait with the Classic difficulty until after the first playthrough

Are you playing on PC? If so, is it still necessary to bypass the 2K launcher to avoid the stuttering/performance hit, or have they fixed that?

I was playing Far Cry 6 every week to complete the insurgency but each one requires you play that special assignment thing with the pgx240 or whatever it’s called and I hate that mode. It’s a constant rush to get out of the sun and find water and I don’t like playing games that way. I tried just ignoring that part of the game but if you do that you can’t get the insurgency reward so it’s not worth it.

I did play on PC, but I didn’t run into any big stuttering / performance issues– I remember Mafia 3 was a lot worse in that regard. Probably couldn’t hurt though, the 2K launcher seemed prettttty pointless and the game did make my computer pretty toasty :grimacing:

Either way its like 66% off for a week, so it’s not a bad time to pick it up

Aren´t they all

Yeah, I´m probably have to lower the settings quite a bit to have it run somewhat fluently on mine and it will still get toasty  Should probably bypass the launcher just to make it easier for it.

Oh definitely. I “unfortunately” picked it up in November when it was “only” 50%

It is pretty funny how we’ve gone from buying and downloading games individually, to buying them through a launcher, to then downloading a different launcher for each game. Methinks we’ve forgotten the purpose…

Don’t know what parts you’ve got, but my computer isn’t crazy and it ran pretty well! Even looks good on lower settings (though I guess 2002 graphics aren’t hard to beat haha). Playing in borderless windowed mode definitely helps the performance too.

The whole experience was certainly worth full price, so “only” 50% off isn’t bad either

Resident Evil Village.

I mean it’s not a bad game but why oh why are Capcom deviating so far from the origins of the series? I want more puzzles, science, visual horror, and evil corporate board rooms and agents and less vampires, werewolves and Gothic fiction.

Time for a hard reboot, RE2 remake was a step in the right direction, let’s go that way instead.

Nah, just the devs/publishers finding new ways to limit us and decide how we can buy and play those games…

Oh that´s good to know. Should be able to run it then in an acceptable way. Mafia 3 would probably give me an idea, but I haven´t played it yet

LS3D ftw!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh, does it?? I was under the impression that fullscreen is better since resources are not diverted elsewhere. Then again, I know nothing about this. Is it the preferred choice for every game then when possible?

I´m sure it was. Would´ve waited for a bigger discount if I thought differently :relaxed:

Fortnite just came out with these beasts that roam around their game.

They are called Klombos, they are massive, and they are cute.
They just roam around and shoot items into the sky and are pretty chill (unless you try to kill one, because it will murder you)

I have finally done 50 Escape Attempts in Hades. And, as poetically as can be, I escaped the underworld on that 50th attempt.

I made it to the final biome and fought the final boss ONCE before, and tried to replicate that strategy again. Good thing it worked, and I beat the game!
…Not!! This is a rogue-like, what did you expect? Turns out I have to get to the surface nine more times before I see the “true ending” and credits scroll. Yikes. I was planning to use the “God Mode” in the settings after my 50th failed attempt – it reduces damage by 20% and increases by 2% every time you die, up to a cap of 80% – but I beat it so I’ll hold out a little bit longer! Seems there’s a lot of challenge-based and reward-based endgame content that opens up now. I’m excited to see how much more dying I can withstand, since the game is still pretty darn fun.

I keep getting stuck on Elysium though. Theseus is just the worst.

Windjammers 2. (Official) sequel to the game from the mid 90’s with added mechanics and techniques. Once you get the controls down, then learn a few strategies, it can be a blast to play! I would like it if you could change more settings in the game though. Like increasing the time limit. It even has an online vs mode. I just saw this trailer. `Brought tears to my eyes.

“Official”: It’s been many years, but there was an unofficial game based on Windjammers. It had a similar quite different art style (but still - hand drawn sprites). I’ll see if I can find a vid…

Ah! Crazy Power Disc Perfect

So I finished Kingdom Hearts 3. I had fun. Easily my favourite game in the series, although the fact it is pretty easy is partly why I imagine. You can basically breeze through the game on standard difficulty. But you have so many options and utility at your disposal it never gets too mindless.

As for the story and really the entire KH plot thus far… I like it. I don’t love it, I think there is just too much BS that infects everything, and probably too many characters. But y’know, KH3 does a good job of trying to tie alot of loose ends up and it does get genuinely emotional. I am interested to see what the future of the series will be like, with KH3 being the end of the first story arc and them setting the seeds up for the next big story arc, which should be interesting.

I had a few hours to kill, so I decided to sit down and finally finish The Outer Wilds, since I never got around to finishing it after it was taken off of Gamepass. I’ll admit, I had to use a guide to get progress past a puzzle I was stuck on but that puzzle was also the reason I put the game down and never beat it during its orignal stint on Gamepass. Jumping back into it after so long was surprisingly smooth too, I felt that same feeling of anxiety and fear that I felt while slowy gliding through Dark Bramble again and I was able to adapt to the controls easily.

The ending is a little like the one in 2001: A Space Odyessy, because I have no words to explain it and I’m not sure what it means, but it’s different from that movie because it was satisfying and did give closure to the story.

I’m definitely going to pick up Echoes of The Eye once I finish playing through the Mass Effect games. I hear it’s a lot scarier than the base game, and if that’s the case then I’m in for a treat because The Outer Wilds is one of the only games to actually make me scared.

Yoo Man !! Finally beat this electro man !!
After 1 week (>18 hours) of fighting with him with youtube tutorials.

Honestly at first I thought this game is very difficult and annoying but then I realize we need to learn their(enemy) weakness, get more xp and upgrade and at times use stealth/deathblow (like 47).
The Key to this rage game is don’t be raged and keep patience - just dance on fighting and learn the moves

For first two phases I used Shadow Rush to beat Genichiro and keeping about 2 3 feet distance from him. So Shadow Rush and jump to left > Shadow Rush and jump to left > Shadow Rush and jump to left.
Once he is the Electric guy, hit him aggressively and once he jumps for Lightning attack > Jump and Hit the lightning against him… wow many crazy fight - enjoyed the dance.
PM me if you need more details on it. I would be happy to help.

PS:
Long way to go …

Man, thanks a million for pointing this out here. I literally never noticed it and (like many others) hated this section for forcing you into an exposed situation and potential shootout. The cable underneath is brilliant, just tried it out myself.

Yeah I wouldn’t have realized that myself either had I not watched some videos of the game ealier. It’s the only SC game I had kinda spoiled to myself before playing it, but at least the last two missions I had almost forgotten about. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Ah, so that’s how you found out  Well good thing you did, cause I’d never notice it myself.
