So do we have hitman 1 missions this time aswell

I’m guessing, the main mission target simply won’t spread any virus. Don’t think they’ll change the route of any of the NPCs.

You should remake the axe one tho! The one with the ghost fan disguise.

Ayyyy, would you look at that! A bit of patience this week paid off. Here’s the March Roadmap at the end of the week, after all.

This is some great news with the changes to the ETA. They look numerous and honestly were more than I expected IOI to do. Thanks for taking your community’s feedback into consideration!

What’s gotten me more excited about the mode now is

  • One complication
  • All Optional Complicaions in future
  • 3 targets per contract (even season 1? That was a criticism I had about it, I’m surprised they’d change that too)

The HWK21 Covert im also sure is an unlock we’ve already had for a while, so unless this has a different skin on it - just with the same name - oops!

I’ll have to play it for myself when I have the chance, because this looks like a promising way to keep Arcade more fun, with a bit of risk remaining.

And cool! I had totally forgot @Kevin_Rudd’s little datamine of a few months ago that Patient Zero Contracts mode was coming. This was a very nice surprise, and should diversify the contracts mode pool!

I was more focused on the potential targets for a contract that I overlooked this possibility. Thanks for reminding me. Now I will create that containment contract (need to go back in campaign to determine/track the superspreaders). Hopefully IOI will open up submissions in the future for non-H3 contracts. Oh well, into the forum thread it goes.

Awesome to see PZ finally getting Contracts Mode, I really didn’t expected that to become a thing after all those Years, so I’m glad it did.

Next thing we need is Contracts Mode for the Special Assignments, atleast for Mumbai and Santa Fortuna it would be worth the effort.

the virus will not be a thing at all in the contracts mode as you can read on their website

I can still select the targets based off what I observe in the campaign and create a briefing/narrative. I don’t need the virus in contracts. Like I said, I will need to track in campaign mode to determine my contract.

I don’t really see how it would. Other than the light quality being slightly different for Santa Fortuna, there’s really no difference between the Special Assignment maps and their regular versions. That’s why IO decided not to do them to begin with. Holiday Hoarders and Hokkaido Snow Festival…. maybe, but even there, it’s really just visual differences and maybe a couple NPCs in different spots. It’s not like the full changes you see in Sapienza and Marrakesh.

IOI says they’re removing the virus from Patient Zero for contracts mode, but didn’t say whether it’ll be removed from The Author. Normally in The Author, if Akram gives Black the virus, Black will escape with it and fail the mission. They can’t do this for Contracts, right? I mean, otherwise we’d have to stop Black every single time.

I think they mean the virus not be active and target not be infected . That more free movement sounds great

Either it is removed, and they failed to mention it, or unless Black isn’t noted as a target, the mission works fine with it still intact?

I feel like I remember hearing that one of the targets in the Source mission leaves after a certain amount of time, but I haven’t seen it myself. Maybe they removed that from Contracts mode or I’m not patient enough.

Regardless @Sami_Shaikh is right.
The virus mechanic adds required targets to your mission automatically (and gives 47 a lethal hazard). They probably stripped it away because Contracts mode got too chaotic while it was active.

Since the fail condition (one of, anyway) of that mission is that Black escapes with the virus, if that element is removed, Black could still disappear from the map without ending the mission. All of the mechanics of the virus transfer and Black leaving could still happen without the mission ending, I’d think.

Yeah, the HWK 21 Covert is already a reward. Thankfully, there’s tons of other in-game gun variants that can be repurposed as an unlock instead: Druzhina 34 ICA, Hackl 9S Covert, HX-7 Covert, DAK DTI, HWK21 Pale, etc. I’m also sure there are even more unused weapons in the game’s code that would be a good fit too.

I hope soon we get Freelance because the idea of it still is of the best they can provide. Also grateful they fixed Arcade mode. The rewards are so-so. Depends if you like the more futuristic looking guns.

I know a lot of people didn’t like the various complications, but after playing the new ones and replaying the old ones - one things is absolutely crystal clear: the one complication makes these so much more boring than they were before.

Yes you have more flexibility in what you can do, but some of the ETs - especially those from the H1-era - are so empty that having the freedom to do a little more doesn’t add anywhere near as much fun and challenge as the original setup of the arcade did. I had so much fun with the first three and replayed them so many times. This second set of three, yawn. Probably won’t touch them again.
