Hey hey hey people how are you?
The Targets Heat Championship is officially on!
I have kept the same rules as the first (?) edition.
Have fun!
Unfortunately I will only host the first ones, not play.
Rules:
Players get 1 point to add to the board, and 2 points to subtract
Points may be split up how you wish.
No decimalised points allow, so basically no half or quarter points permitted
Players may play the game once per day (local time)
Players are not allowed to “save” missed day postings and post multiple times on a single day. If you miss playing on August 1st, you can not play twice on August 2nd.
No duplicate accounts are allowed to play
No account younger than a week is allowed to play
When a target reaches 0 points, it is immediately removed from the game
The game will end when 4 targets are eliminated, and the 8 targets remaining will move on to the quarter-finals.
96 qualifiers will get split in 4-24 quarter finals, then 10 of each will qualify with a total of 40 missions. Two 20 semi-finals, and a 20 final at the end.
No one is allowed to place targets in the realm of quantum superposition.

Fritz isn’t optional, he has to be killed to complete the mission. He may not be an official target until Contracts, but he’s someone you have to kill, unlike Zhun, who can be avoided. That being said, I now realize I answered myself as he’s not a target for the first game, so he can be added when we get to Contracts.

Really like this idea of doing Heat runs for targets, I don’t think I’ve seen it before, I would like to see it done for the other games too.

Reasoning
One point added to Dr. Ort-Meyer my beloved
Aka 47’s TRUE father AND the TRUE leader of the cloning project (Providence Partners need NOT apply.)
Never been a fan of the new games suddenly implying Dr. Ort-Meyer was just some low level Providence minion, while giving the credit of 47’s creation to the Partners. Totally felt as if the writers of WoA totally downplayed Otto’s importance in the franchise to prop up their new characters… meh! No one can replace Dr. Ort-Meyer and his Secret of the 47th Chromosome.
The Doctor is easily at his best in C47. Great presence throughout the game, great concept for a final mission, memorable dialogues, his death scene was thematically and visually interesting. Just a solid villain all around, his presence was a looming shadow in the plots of the future games too.
Two points detracted from Arkadij Jegorov, aka Boris.
Plutonium Runs Loose is just a very frustrating mission in general. Too much walking and following guards around, ship had too many guards, sure doesn’t help that Boris himself is too obsessed with activating the nuke and escaping everytime, so you gotta be really careful in handling both the nuke and his escape while making sure not to alert anybody or he’ll trigger it. Just… very frustrating.
If there’s a Heat Contracts championship I’ll be giving him a point there for sure, though. This target was better utilized in Deadly Cargo than in Plutonium Runs Loose.

I don’t have much of a horse in this race. Lots of generic targets with only a few being memorable.
