honestly the most honest answer imo. everyone has their own beliefs and one thing that’s brings us together on this forum is hitman. truest unity ever achieved. also i feel politics does more to divide than bring people together personally speaking
true. i overall just care more about vibing on here and enjoying the game with other people than to get stuck in a political debate rabbit hole. and well posting a lot of metal and rock music in the music thread lol. that stuff brings everyone together. overall at this rate nowadays i’m just tired of politics
I would consider myself a democratic socialist. In my youth I voted for the right wing, for more economic liberal parties and believed in the teaching of Adam Smith.
I still have some right wing believes and they flare up when I get annoyed by moronic financial policies, like the EU VAT on fitness, and lower VAT on products contraning sugar, it making it more expensive to take care of your body.
The last two elections I have for the Moderate party, a party standing between the left and right, and this election for the Socialist workers party. Normally I wouldn’t vote for the Socialist Workers party, we differ on to many core principles. I do also recognise that parts of our wellfare state is under pressure and the impact is eroding our public schools, daycare, hospitals and elder care.
I can’t see myself voting for any of the right wing parties, especially not when the Danish people’s party is gaining momentum with their cesspool of populist policies. They are EU sceptic, Orban Ally, Ukraine sceptic and Putin apologist.
it might sound ridiculous due to me being an American but i’m more of a monarchist. i personally feel modern day politics have failed and would prefer everything to just go back to the way it used to be. kind of like how i feel Germany should be ruled by the Kaiser. i know this makes me an odd man out but it’s what i genuinely believe and i tend to have a more traditionalist view of things. also i know i mentioned being tired of politics and i am lol. but sincerely that is what i believe. just never felt like mentioning my beliefs but was interested in the detailed response you gave in this thread so i felt like expressing what my beliefs are as well in a short explanation

yeah without context it sounds incredibly awkward lol. regardless my point is monarchy would be better than current state of affairs. i don’t mean going back to the era of the dictator with the Charlie Chaplin moustache. cause that too was a product of modernity as well and not to mention it destroyed Germany and every other nation in the process for some mystical fairy tale race. so yeah probably using Germany as an example creates the wrong impression of what i mean.

Democracy is not necessarily the best working system, but the system where the most people are responsible for the course. We cannot blame a monarch for it going this way. And if we feel powerless to fix something, then we got too comfortable with how rarely and how indirectly we use our constitutional means.
Monarchy is pretty much against everything I wish for so I make this short: bold statement!
I avoid online political discussions due to being in multiple spaces that involve an international audience. Some people are so absorbed into political tribalism that they see their fellow citizens (and people across the globe) as a threat for thinking differently than they do, and will find any way to justify this uncivilized hive mentality that plagues every political isle. No, I would not find it possible to have such a wide range of people from all over the world as friends if I cared about their leanings or cultural differences in such a way that I put aside the reality that I’m dealing with a human being.
Yes, I do agree with putting a foot down on bigotry, and there are issues that I have strong stances on, but I will never allow myself to be overcome with this political sickness I’ve witnessed grow more and more each year for decades. Instead I prefer to keep my power at the ballot box and local politics rather than debate and argue online about politics. I do get some enjoy these debates and can even do so civilly, but it’s not for me.
